1. Be a hunter. (go to the wild hunt prey and feed my family) 2. The less you think the better hunter you become. 3. Pick the weapon up and focus and shoot. (Press and Dial) 4. Time is important, 24hrs a day, 12hrs day, 12hrs night. Hunt prey at the right time or else you'll become prey to be hunted. Value the time you have, right now. 5. Have fun. You don't have to hunt big deer everyday, sometimes just a small rabbit for dinner. My words are used as a hunter's mindset, not mean it.

Point 2 and Point 5 is the most accurate for Telemarketers. i am currently a Telemarketer for a resort, and since we are selling holiday packages, people are tend to be more open with us than say a Telemarketer who sells more rigid products, since people tends to be more open to fun packages such as holiday and resort packages. But again, it doesn't mean we arent having a hard time, we also got rejected quite a few, but i agree, less thinking and just have fun is the key to just be a good Telemarketer

Can I add something here? One of the things I learned from cold calling is to always check the lead's information first before initiating the call. Especially if the lead generation happened a long time ago or bought list to expedite lead gen. In most cases, the person and phone number no longer match. It's best to use a reverse phone number lookup first to ensure you're calling the right person. It will allow you to verify their contact and find the correct contact info in case it happened to be incorrect.

hey trent I am a first year university student and I am wondering if I can go directly from being a software engineer -> sales engineer -> account executive instead of going the SDR route? I am thinking of majoring in computer science so I can go with this route instead and skip the SDR part... would you recommend this as a better pathway or should I go straight into a pure sales roles when I graduate and not bother getting the comp sci degree anymore? Dialing when you don't feel like it or when you feel self-conscious is hard, but TFW you book that meeting regardless makes it all worth it! I didn't feel like dialing much at all this week and WFH all week because my depression has been particularly rough, but I still hit the phones and booked my meetings as usual - and the dopamine from success at work took away a lot of the "edge" of my depression. It's honestly sad to see how hypnotized you've been by the corporate system. Having a number of sales calls done for someone shouldn't be the "fun fact" you present about yourself. You obviously have the skillset needed to create your own business and be very successful, but you need to break out of the chains of fear that corporate had placed upon you.
