Cold Call Intro Script:
Hey XYZ (prospect first name), this is Trent from (your company name), how’ve you been?
The reason I’m calling you is…
Prospects want to know who you are, why you are calling them, & what you want.
→Go to softwaresalesguide.com/softwa... for my full cold calling course showing you full scripts, systems, objections, & more.
If you say the wrong sequence of words in your cold call intro, like most people do, you face the risk of being rejected, or what I like to call body bagged.
If you use my proven cold call script, you will earn the right to give your pitch and set more meetings.
I open every cold call the same, it has never failed selling software, getting job interviews, & now selling medical supplies. It will work for you no matter who you are calling or what you are selling.

"The fear of making the call is more excruciating than the fear of being rejected". Had a BDR interview yesterday and although i completely flunked it, i can 100% agree that the fear leading up to the interview was far worse than the fear I felt by messing up.

I'm glad you called out the line "This is a cold call and if you want to hang up, go ahead!" There's some at my company who say that, and oddly they are still somewhat successful! I would NEVER use that line. It's not part of my personality. By saying that out of the gate, you're in a sense saying, "My call is not very important and I don't even know why I called you," or "I feel bad that I called you and interrupted your day!" That should NEVER be how you are perceived! You are there to HELP them! You should come in like you have the golden egg!

"and oddly they are still somewhat successful!". Well, that is a clue right here... Just like you, I also do not like to use that one, but it does work for some people. It depends on the style of the person, target market, etc. I like the "confused approach" with obvious "gatekeepers": Yes, hi, just NAME here. I wonder if you could, uh, help me out for a moment?

@@OfficialBonusBandits starting with a free offer is my favorite cold call "approach"! It just makes me so relaxed. I mean, I am offering value for free, you don't want it, your competitor will (B2B). Of course the goal is to go to paying upgrades and/or later services, but the free offer is quality and not fake.

Well, he said, “How’ve you been?”, not “How are you?”. It’s different and suggests that you already know them. Creating an impression of pre-recognition heightens your chances of moving forward in the call.

Yeah not bad - "how have you been?" is definitely better than "how are you?". I've usually got round this with "how are you getting on? You well?" with a tone of familiarity. Though open to experimenting with "how have you been getting on? You keeping well?" Only drawback is that they may ask "have we spoken before", at which point you either BS about a fugazzi past conversation or you be straight up, which is why a present tense option could be a good shout. Though will try on Monday and feedback

You seem like a nice guy but the opener to a call saying Hi I'm trent from blabla the reason for my call is ........ doesnt seem like your any differnt to all the other sales guys they spoken to that month.. Surley you have to come up with an opener that says this gut knows where I'm coming from or understands my problems ? hey jusdt my opnion. I appluad you for your content and success.@@TrentDressel
