In one of your videos can you take a moment to address what happened to the “flying cowboys”? It just kind of stopped, Cory Robin seemed to have gone through some tough times and fell off the face of the earth. It’s just odd that it was such a “thing” and now no one even mentions it anymore…

I was watching Mike Patey's latest vid on his crazy house, and was thinking the same thing. He was kind of the glue that held it together, and it all faded away after the Draco accident. Scrappy took all his attention. Trent and the rest of these boys have got a great thing going on here tho. Just loving this camping/flying thing!

That was good ADM on their part. Even though it turned out to be an easy/no issues pass if they weren't comfortable with it, then they made the right decision. I say the same about the bike. Ride your ride. Better to be safe than sorry. Live to fly another day.

Forget the haters Trent! They obviously don’t get pilot jargon. I for one thoroughly enjoy your videos and how much you promote each pilot flying within their own comfort level. The minute you push someone beyond that and it goes bad, you live with being partially responsible even though indirectly. You have a wise outlook. I appreciate your candor too in saying “The Flying Cowboys” story isn’t yours to tell. Again a fair take on things. Keep up the good work and content! Stay safe Bro! 🤠👍

It is still spring... after a wet winter. I don't know just when they filmed this, but now it's May and things are starting to dry out. Los Angeles County coast has been a fairly solid "May gray" for the past couple weeks or more. Aside from the concrete jungle effect, the weather isn't the best for flying. I expect up in the Coast Ranges things are a bit different, though.

It took time for me to realize that I should not push other people into situations I was comfortable with, and they were not. We were kayaking a class IV river. When we got to Road Block I ran it, but carl wanted to look at it again. I told him it was the same, just run it. He did and ended up in a hole and swimming. That made me realize that I was comfortable with running the rapid, but he had reservations. I changed my attitude and never pushed others to do what they were not comfortable with.

Can you explain the reasoning behind the high steep approach in gusty conditions?
@TrentonPalmer7 ай бұрын
My strip regularly has a good amount of sink on short final since the hill drops off, and especially with a stiff west wind like we had that day. So we just gave ourselves some headroom in case the sink was bigger than expected. Also the headwind made the approach so slow that was easy to just drop down onto the strip.

The FPV flights were cool. Especially the landings!
@joshlindemeier24347 ай бұрын
I get your point about leading the way and being able to confirm conditions…yet if they had the fuel to explore other options to choose the least amount of risk for their personal (and that of their aircraft’s) metrics/priorities/skillsets/confidence/etc. lessons for all to be had and maybe some were pushed passed their comfort zone which is usually where the most growth occurs. AWESOME video… going to go check out the other videographers channel and footage. ✌️ and ❤️

I said something similar on the previous video. It's obvious because of the enormous amount of time (mostly bug spraying) he spends in the air that he has achieved a level of comfort and mastery beyond most of his fellow bush pilots. But is there a point where a line is crossed? I hope not.
