Trepang2 Review - The Final Verdict

With many games from the past being praised for their stellar combat and enemy AI, Trepang Studio is looking to recreate the magic with Trepang2. While the new release features many hallmarks of classic games, it does so with quite a bit of style and a lack of horror.
Trepang2 puts you into the shoes of an unnamed agent who seems to have been captured by a shady corporation against your will. Starting off without having any memories and a couple of special abilities, you're going to have to fight your way out, and along the way, take down a mysterious cult that seems to have dealings with a strange megacorporation.
Players will have access to two abilities right from the outset-Focus and Cloak-both of which are meant to help you out in gunfights. Stealth is only an option to help set up ambushes, and you're expected to be using your special abilities to take enemies out in the most gruesome and stylish way you can come up with.

Trepang 2 is basically FEAR's long lost brother who came home after 20 years. If the gun carnage is just as good as FEAR.........this is a no brainer.

Considering this is a spiuritaul succeror to F.E.A.R, both visually and gameplay - you mentioning Quake and Half-Life, both that play very differently than F.E.A.R and not mentioning F.E.A.R is just... odd. Also - Indie shooting scene is massive, so yes - an indie game from and for indie scene can succeed. Weird point.

Want to buy this game but I dont see it anywhere at regular price or less... My rules about videogames: 1) Never preorder again. 2) Buy physical games only unless it's an indie worthy it game. 3) Don't purchase any game that has wokeness in it. The reson for wokeness is to destroy family values, gender identity, relationSHIPS, to feminize men and to masculinize women. 4) Do not but any game on release day. Many times publishers release an update as in censoring or adding microtransactions after the reviews are in. Being an impulse buyer enslaves you. 5) Any older games that get remade, most likely will be altered with wokeness for the modern audience a.k.a. weak minded droness that are easily manipulated emotionally a.k.a children in grown up bodies. 6) Do not trade games in the store, only with friends, coworkers etc. 7) Do not buy live service games (Helldivers 2 was an exception for me), I'm 99% a single player person. Do not blame any developer/publisher/politician-governement), just go in front of the mirror for the source of the poison or the remedy. Anyone that takes advantage of your money is smart, and that makes you stupid. Everything is energy, they provide the games for money in exchange. If you complain that you had a bad experience, then go in front of the mirror about your poor, unintelligent choice 8)Enjoy the experience of playing videogames but dont be attached to this activity. Life is beautiful, there are so many beautiful things besides standing in front of the screen. 9) When you purchase new games at Eb games or anywhere else, the case must be wrapped in the plastic. Even if the worker tells you that has no scratches, is like new or whatever other bs reason tells you, you must demand it yo be wrapped. Do not argue/waste time. Unless it's a used game. For as long as money is in your pocket, you have the power. If the situation requires it, leave the store, you do not have to buy the game, even if it is the last copy. Trepang2 isn't better than fear. Fear isn't better than trepang2. They are two different games. People sometimes get lost in the whole "fear successor" thing and forget it's not supposed to be fear. Both are brilliant games. Both should be loved. Both should be played.

Yay! 8 minutes of catastrophic mouse oversteering. 🙄 😮‍💨 Who ever is responsible for this gameplay: Download some aim trainers, read mouse setup tutorials and THEN hop into a shooter. This is honestly embarrassing to watch. Not even in slow motion the person was able to point the crosshair onto an enemies head.

Trepang2 doesn’t reach the same heights of F.E.A.R. but it definitely hits those great 2000’s shooters formulas. I recommend it to anyone who considers themselves a CoD movement demon. Pick it up on sale.

Definitely doesn't reach the same heights. F.E.A.R. kept me with it for longer and had me coming back many times. Trepang2 sadly got boring quick. Completely lacks atmosphere too and looks very dull.

It is painfully clear you haven't played the game at all. Let me guess...you took one look at the first level and decided "yep, that must be the whole game." I hate to break it to you but nothing you said is even remotely close to reality... Trapang2 not only has incredibly varied environments but it even features outdoor areas as well. With a nice variety of enemies coupled with customizable hard-hitting weapons and a varied mission types Trapang2 is incredible. Finally, the game has the best gunplay I have ever seen before., bar none. So please just stop and actually play the game before making any more assumptions.
