I'm sixty three year old none baseballer and have wanted to increase my speed so I can throw with the young ones and learn how to pitch properly. Thank you I start in the morning.

or Jump Backs - glute load drill variation. Trevor's explanation focuses more on the hip rotation (do this) / leg extension (don't do this) aspect of it. I've seen others talk about the glute load and then riding the back leg. But that leaves out describing the rotational component of the movement.

Shouldn't front foot plant have toes facing straight ahead down hill to home plate. His toes/foot were facing to the right when it lands.

the front foot can land with any angle as long as it is with ~15 deg of home plate. everyone has different anatomies, so requiring the foot to face home at 0 deg may seem unnatural, uncomfortable, or provide the athlete with more stability complications than necessary

It’s also common to train or do drills at a less angle to put greater focus on the torso rotation
