There are a lot of questions about what's going on in Jacksonville and what's wrong with Trevor Lawrence. My biggest takeaway with Trevor over the years has simply been that he's extremely talented. He makes special plays every game and does things that very few guys can do, but he’s got to continually improve on the little things and make the layups. Whether it's an easy read that I expect him to make at this point in his career or an open throw that I expect him to complete, he’s got to do that. He has to make more of those plays. There are too many plays in games where I just look and think, "OK, you've got to make that one." If you want to elevate your team and yourself to elite status, you’ve got to make those throws. Sometimes, you have to slow yourself down in the pocket, clean up your footwork, understand your read, and make better decisions.
I don't know everything going on in the room; I’m just telling you what I would teach as a coach, and why. I’m always going to tell you why. I’m never just going to say, "do this" or "do that." I’m explaining WHY I would do it, and that’s what all these videos are about. I want you guys to hear my reasoning, and I would love for coaches to reach out to me and say, "OK, here’s our 'why,'" so I can challenge my "why" against theirs. Together, we can come up with the best "why." To me, that’s what it’s all about-coming up with the best play for every situation to help all of our guys be successful and, more importantly, help the quarterback be successful.
So, that's the biggest thing with Trevor: clean up the footwork, clean up the timing, and make the throws that are right there in front of you. Those are the little things that will take him to the next level because he’s got all the talent to get there. #trevorlawrence #nfl #jaguars

Kurt is the absolute best in the TV analyst business at breaking down QB techniques/pocket presence. I learn a lot every time I tune in to him, either on TV or here on his YT Channel... He's the John Smoltz of the NFL

Trevor's ceiling - not the floor, but the *ceiling* - for the foreseeable future is the Lions Matthew Stafford: an outrageously talented player who was annointed the savior of a franchise who many at the time thought couldn't possibly be saved, and who had stretches where he carried his team to huge wins. But all too often, he was let down by bad coaching, bad roster-building, and the general dysfunction and malaise surrounding the organization. TL, like Stafford, will accomplish some amazing things as an NFL quarterback... years from now, on his next team.

What I took away from this is that Trevor has been sped up so much from playing behind one of the worst o-lines every year he’s entered the league. He’s making a decision way too fast and his feet are hardly ever settled. He’s not seeing ghost because that sum bitch will stand in there and take a hit. If his o-line plays like they did against the Texans more often, then he will settle down and get back to where he was at the second half of 2022 and first half 2023.

Hey Kurt, at the play at 18:00, could Trevor have just handed the ball to Bigsby? Pre snap looks like Cover 1 with an over look and the man defenders to the right. Line all shifts left and Bigsby has the far side of the field to work with.

Everyone says eagles offense is old school, and I get that we have old school qualities since we're physical and kind of slower, but what kind of schemes or themes should we be running with to make the most of those qualities? What offenses in the past are comparable to the eagles offense right now or comparable to what they could potentially look like?

Is it the fault of a coach during the game that does not point out the mistakes Trevor is making with his footwork to help Trevor be more accurate on his throws or is it not possible for any coach on the field or in the booth upstairs during the game to see what Trevor is doing wrong?

For a team to have bet their future on a QB, why has he not been coached up? He should have spent the last two off seasons working on his footwork. Hell, Peyton Manning did this until he retired. I cannot fathom why he hasn't had a personal coach working him hard.

Trevor has paralysis by analysis, he needs to get out of his head and just play ball for a bit. If he throws dome picks, he throws some picks. But he needs to trust his arm and his receivers but the receivers aren't helping him out with all the drops. And Christian Kirk is looking like he's super rusty from missing most of last year.
@shivnerine1
@shivnerine1 4 ай бұрын
He’s gotten scared of making turnovers, several Of his picks are drops turned into picks, he also doesn’t want to fumble, several of his fumbles are when he’s about to throw the ball he’s suddenly blitzed and hit, so if you notice he either takes too long to throw and holds the ball tighter orrr he throws too quickly and overthrows

The talent is obviously there, we've seen it in stretches and while I'll concede we haven't helped him as much as we should have, at some point consistency becomes key and he has never shown it. He'll make 3-5 phenomenal throws per game and miss 3-5 of the easiest throws you get in this league. It's maddening. Great video, I love these breakdowns that relay what us amateurs see but can't correctly articulate.

The terminology of making the layouts sounds good in theory. However, there's a part of football that 90% of the people as professionals may get it wrong as well. As the commentary or fanbase in any given sport. Or event that requires the human body or human mind. There is what is called vibration. If Trevor Lawrence, miss an easy read like he has in. The past lay up or not, you have to feel the vibrations. Another word for the vibration is called. Feeling the game. When you feel the game that's a vibration. He needs to feel the game. In short, some things can be taught. Some things can be learned. He has to slow the game down to the point where he understands his abilities under pressure. Or under d Duress.

I don't think the stick - flat play would have worked to the short throws. The DB is covering two guys maybe you get a yard. The earlier play where he didn't take the corner - the play was for receiver to go upfield so he would have run into that safety coming down hard. This is more of an OC problem than Lawrence issue, but Trevor Larry has to be vocal about it if it's to change.
