It looked pretty solid, I thought for a few seconds it was a barn find that’s been doing the rounds for the past couple of years, an original Cooper. But it didn’t have twin carbs which I spotted pretty quickly.

Great video again Trev. If you are thinking about another project, how about a 1930s special. Or I need two front wings making for a 34 Jowett.

Hi Trev, i have a question, when it comes to mig welding with silicon bronze wire are there any specific mig welder that are set up for this? i know the gas and wire is an esy change but one of the things mentioned was torch cable length, its been said that its better to have a shorter cable run to the torch because the silicon bronze wire is softer and easier to get jammed on a longer run out so do you or your welding contacts have any advise? i already have a standard mig but if its something i want to do alot more of (mig brazing) then i might get a separate machine for that
@trevsblog2 жыл бұрын
I have used mig welders that have been specifically bought to use as Silicon bronze welders. They had programs that were set to specific parameters in line with manufacturers specs for accident repair. Some of these welders worked exceptionally well but one was horrendous, and it would actually blow huge holes in steel. After many complaints to management it was eventually overhauled by a company that first replaced the liner in the torch. This transformed it. I think If I was going to do this I’d buy a reel of wire and replace the torch in my current welder and see how well it worked before going to the expense of buying another welder. Cheers Trev 👍

@@gavin6538 yes you’ve highlighted my issue, I’m building a 10x12 ft storage shed to house various freezers and other catering paraphernalia. I’ve got so little time I don’t want to waste it working in a pickle. I will continue to do a few metal shaping vids in the meantime. 👍
