Watching from Canada here, that is excellent coverage there, I really enjoyed the show and quite pleasant also i might add. Loving the Cortinas and Escorts

Hi. Thank you. Old Fords are definitely great and the values, even the relatively modern Fords like a 1993 Escort Cosworth, are at mad numbers at the moment. Personally I’m liking commercial vehicles more as I get older. Probably because they are unusual vehicles to survive as they typically live a hard life. Thanks for watching and your comment.

The 80’s with the music and no internet was great. But 40 years ago makes me wonder how quickly the next 40 will go.
@gord3072 жыл бұрын
@@LivetoDriveUK I'll agree with you on the music, but there are some aspects of the internet I enjoy - an online auction site and KZbin being a couple ;-) I realised that the 80s were a long time ago when it occurred to me that the 'new' Star Trek is older now than the 'old' Star Trek was when I was young! I'm afraid the next 40 years isn't going to take that long at all. I must stop procrastinating!

I liked all the barn finds, my favourite was prob the Wolsey hearse, mini van a close second, did you see the steering wheel looked like a vintage cars 4 spoke wheel? I also share a liking of commercials and the Morris removal van was smashing, engine in the cab next to driver was missing it's cover! Great video thanks great weekend David Deesh
@LivetoDriveUK2 жыл бұрын
The commercial vehicles appeal to me as they are usually driven hard as work tools so survivors are few. That mini van was cool if needing a lot of work. Thanks for watching and your support.

Great little vid, thank-you. You've managed to catch my bro' with his project Tvr, I have helped a tiny bit with it, but he's retired and I still work, but great stuff, I left school and was apprentice trained on Vauxhall Viva's, Victor's and Bedford vans, 3 speed column change, who needs flappy paddles ?!

Thanks. TVR? Awesome. I have never really worked on cars, mechanically, as I am only confident (ish) at cleaning and polishing them. Vivas, Victors and Bedford vans; would love to own any of them now. I seem to be more interested in commercial vehicles as I get old. Possibly because it’s more unusual to see a survivor. Thanks for watching and your comment.

Pete c’s mark 3 pappa ( I think he calls it ! ) is my favourite barn find and the Hilman husky van . To be honest I didn’t see anything I’d not have given drive space what a treat to see cars that have style and look individual again. The odd autos boys cars were superb as well . My absolute favourites were the mk1 transits my goodness there damn sexy I’d really really like one of those 🙏👍

It’s weird how commercial vehicles have such an interest but then they are cool and less likely to have been looked after and survive. For that itself it makes them rare. I too would happily find a home for any of them… if I had the money, and the space. Thanks for watching.

Will hopefully catch up with you at another show… unless (knowing I would like a chat) you see me first and run 😂 A link to your channel is in the video description.

Please note: the “Furious Driving” ex American cop car originated from Beechwood police station in Ohio not Las Vegas as mentioned in the video. I blame my age…

The value has shot up the most in the last 10 years, we could all have made a small fortune if we knew. I owned most of the hot hatches and like a fool sold the fast fords and kept a Renault 5 gt turbo that's been in storage.. the others would have paid for my house.
@LivetoDriveUK2 жыл бұрын
To know when we owned them those cars would be worth so much. I never owned any hot hatches from Ford or Renault but would have owned one and kept it if we had of known. As you say, some fetch prices of houses now.

I worked on horticultural nurseries after leaving school in the late 80s to the late 90s, so drove various commercial vehicles : marina, Maestro, chevanne, Astra, escort, Sherpa, Toyota hiace, transit, merc 200, nissan, merc 7.5 ton lorry, so I have a connection with that era of van

@@badbooks476 yes I drove Ford Escort vans (first being the “flat as a…” 1.6 diesel) and then a later 1.8 diesel that actually felt quite quick. Then Transits up until 1995. I would really like the Husky but the next thing would be how much or little would I want done to it? Personally, I think I would keep it looking close to how it does now… and, for a polishaholic like me, that would be difficult 😊

@@LivetoDriveUK nice bit of patina on that Husky, I drove a Escort (estate van) 1.3 petrol, mk1 Astra 1.6 petrol was a flying machine in comparison, much simpler times

I remember the late 80s. 100 grand mint E Typs went down to 20 grand. 200 grand Ferrari boxer went down to 45 grand. So it can happen again. Especially when the banks take money out of circulation. It’s all done by the banks to steal everyone’s property by jumping up the interest rates. It’s all done on purpose.
