Jimmy G was a great leader but Lance will be an excellent replacement. The way this kid moves out of the pocket when pressured is exactly what Jimmy couldn’t do and Lance has a cannon arm. Im very excited for next season.

@cali49202 жыл бұрын
It all depends on Shanahan! He better lead him to success instead of just running him like a fullback! They need to treat Trey like a pass 1st QB with play action and bootlegs and if he needs to escape the pocket then he can run. But he needs to learn where to go with the ball when his 1st read isn't there! He still has a lot of work to do but like I said, it depends on Kyle and his coaching staff. @cali49202 жыл бұрын
That's what I am saying, this all depends on how Kyle and the coaching staff develops him and plays he calls for him. He better not use him as a damm fullback like he did against AZ! He needs to have Lance do more play action and bootlegs. Have him be a pass 1st QB and if he needs to escape the pocket he has those tools as well. He also needs to learn to go through his progressions better and not just take off if his 1st read isn't there. This pick was a big gamble and can be really easy to mess up so they have to be very careful on how they coach and develop him for next season.

If you average Treys 2 and a half game stats out into 17 games...Trey would have over 4,000 yards passing with 34 Tds and 14 INTs. Only Pro Bowlers have stats like that. Trey is much better than ppl think
@paidtourist65632 жыл бұрын
@Richard Aguilar No that's actually not a lot. You need to understand the TD vs INT ratio. 14 INTs is ONLY a lot if you don't throw many TDs. For example, Brett Favre AVERAGED like 26/27 TDs and like 16 INTs PER SEASON. That's really bad. But Matthew Stafford threw 17 INTs last year. Is that not bad? The answer is no. Why? Because he threw 41 TDs. What's that mean? It means that for every INT he threw, he threw almost 2.5 TDs. That's good. In contrast, Mac Jones threw exactly 14 INTs as well last year. Is that good? No. Why? Because he only threw 22 TDs. So roughly 1.5 TDs per every INT. That's bad. If Trey Lance threw 34 TDs and 14 INTs that's almost 2.5 TDs per every INT. That's damn good. And for a rookie, that would have maybe been then best rookie season for any QB in NFL HISTORY! Furthermore, Trey was SO young that he was supposed to be a redshirt junior in college last year. How many juniors in college that you know of could put up 34 TDs to only 14 INTs on NFL defenses? Probably none since no rookie that I know has even done that well as an older QB.

Wow, Monologuer. You’re another one of those guys that think Jimmy is a bad quarterback. Jimmy may not be elite, but he’s not bad. I guess people like you think it’s just a coincidence that the two seasons that he was healthy are the two seasons the team got into the playoffs. I guess people like you think it’s just a coincidence that the team won 70% of the games they started, and 22% of the time when he didn’t start. It’s just a coincidence that when he was traded in 2017, the team was 1-10 before he started, and 5-0 after he started. If you wanna say that Jimmy is not elite and he doesn’t play as well in the playoffs as he does in the regular season, all of us who defend him would agree with you. But what we don’t get is how people like you talk about him as if he’s nothing. Would you prefer the team never traded for him, and the 49ers are possibly in the midst of an eight season playoff drought? Would that have been better? Just look at the Broncos and Saints from this past season. Both teams had stacked rosters, but not a quarterback. And they both missed the playoffs. It cost Vic Fangio his job, and made Sean Payton want to quit. Even though Jimmy is not elite, I guarantee you if he was playing for the Broncos or the Saints this past year, those things would’ve at least got into the playoffs. In other words, he would’ve gotten into the dance and at least give them a shot to compete for a championship. We all know that Jimmy is not elite, but people like you have to stop acting like the guy was absolute trash. He wasn’t.
