Its not the kids fault. He's just using what hes allowed to use and what hes been shown is ok to use. This all falls on Bass. It became a money grab for them instead of being for the love of the sport. Imagine MLB allowing roids or Nascar letting drivers use NOS. Its not even so much about these guys currently using it as it is whats being shown to the next generation. Every young kid will think you cant fish without it and if you cant afford it theres no point in trying. So instead of all kids wanting to grow into pro bass fisherman it will become a elitist filled sport full robots who are plugged in and dont cast at anything that wont net them a century belt every tourney.

The absolute best Bassmaster tourney I ever watched was the 1990 classic on the James River that Rick Clunn won!!! It was exciting as he applied his experience, knowledge, and wisdom without an over reliance on technology. Simply put, he just fished and found a pattern that allowed him to win. Now fast forward or back the clock up. Put this kid in that tournament in 1990, without FFS or have the same tournament in August on tje James this year with no FFS and lets see how many pounds this kid catches. He probably would not even make the first cut.

This is one comment I can definitely reply to with complete certainty. I fished against Trey in 2018 at the FLW Junior World Cup. Trey dominated everyone in that tournament and won it. In the same year he also qualified and fished in the BASS world championship and won that too. Given his young age and proven success before live scope was even around you cannot discredit him for what he has achieved.

I’m not saying ffs has to go away but there needs to be a limit. Limit to one live transducer unit and one standard transducer two 15” screens max make it a tournament at least. Also limit it to brand of electronics per boat.
