20 years ago I bought the house I'm (still) living in, in a market just like in Trey's routine. I was alone and terrified. Fast forward 20 years, and I've almost completely rebuilt it, courtesy of youTube. Yes, replacing and repairing the roof. Yes. resurfacing the driveway. Yes, creating waterways / ditches / swales in the yard to keep the water out of the basement. Yes to new-construction-type new windows. Yes to to-the-studs new kitchen. Almost the same with the bathroom. The most help I had was someone to assist me carrying out the 1980's all-in-one kitchen cabinets which weighed TONS. Moral of the Story. . . . That which doesn't kill you gives you lots of unhealthy coping skills and a dark sense of humor,. . . and a PROFOUND enjoyment of this video. :) Be strong my friends, You actually CAN do it! In my 18 years of life, my family has gone through ALL of this and lots extra - including our realtor actually stealing our house that she was selling for us.... Oh, and moving into a house filled with toxic black mold, only to be moved to another place that was infested with fleas. Now we’re finally settled in a nice old house that took lots of work, stress, and rehabbing- but very well worth it in the end. Quite the adventures we’ve had 😂

@callofdutyblackops9
@callofdutyblackops9 3 жыл бұрын
@@jenniferbates2811 Bought a house last year and moved out of my apartment, I can 100% never go back to an apartment, the freedom you get with your own home is just unbeatable. The only difference in payment wise is that when you buy a house, the fees and stuff are extrapolated out with trash and utilities and whatnot, with apartments it's all built into the renting price, my mortgage is also cheaper than my apartment was. Also, you can do both. I don't know why you can't do both? Who taught you money? If you can buy a house comfortably, 100% buy a house, you can still get an IRA/retirement started. I'm editing this to say, the biggest advantage is how much your credit improves when you buy a house, if you maintain your payments and don't miss them, your credit SKYROCKETS, leading to a better financial situation all around, but like I said before, DO NOT buy a house if you can't comfortably afford the monthly payments and possible upkeep. Also, like with apartments, tons of research is needed.
@jenniferbates2811
@jenniferbates2811 3 жыл бұрын
It's not that I'm not financially intelligent. I miss the freedom of an apartment. Even with a fixed rate mortgage. Taxes go up every year, property taxes, fire taxes utilities...etc. So you really never "own" your house. Even if you bought your house outright, if you can't pay the property taxes the city takes your house. It's different for everyone. Enjoy your home 🏡💙.
