Another great video Oscar. Much preferred the Pullmans in their original blue livery but a nice model which along with your fantastic layout brings back many memories.

Thanks again Rob, The earlier version seems to be the most desired. The prototype must have been out of this world when it first rolled out the workshop in its day. Have you seen this British Transport Film its excellent? kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpuldaiGe65jjpY Oscar

A new twist to Oscar's videos - commentary. Absolutely loved it Oscar. You are the Tri-ang knowledge source and todays video makes me want to dig my Tri-ang stock out and look at it again. I did not know about the freightliner container changes and I had wondered about the blue vs. black container wagons. Love it, can't wait to see what you have to show us next week. Cheers, David.

Thanks David, as you see I'm a little late in replying to all comments. Its my intension to reply to all of them but time is always short. I remember some time ago you one of your videos you showed a large amount of you Tri-ang collection. It was terrific to see so much all at the same time. Especially as you have some Canadian / North American items which are always a pleasure to see. I was unsure about the blue and black bases myself on the container wagons. The Pat Hammond books have a huge amount of information on the entire Tri-ang range. But Its only when you start see these differences in models that you look these things up. I had bought a number of these and it was only looking at them together that I had noticed the change in the colour of wagon bases. Oscar

Thank you Oscar, After seeing this video I did get mine out. I have two black wagons and four blue ones along with quite a variety of containers. Cheers, David.

Its a fine looking model Richard. I was just replying to a comment from Peter Shaw saying how this blue and grey version of the Pullman is often over looked in favourer of the earlier Blue version. I think this blue and grey livery represents British Rails bold step forward in the late 60s early 70s to a very corporate modern look to the railway system and the optimism of the age. Oscar

Hi Peter, its often overlooked this model as every one always seem to like the first blue version with the Blue front end (c1963) which it has to be said was a stunning looking model for its time. Bachmann's recent version of the Blue Pullman is also stunning. Thanks for the positive comments. Oscar

Brilliant . Love these videos Oscar. Inspired by them I got Samstrains to service and repair my AL1 . Now runs like she did back in 1966 . Hauling rake of electric blue grey coaches. Triang a Hornby were fantastic. Never knew about the container flats bring different colours. Mine were in the Junior Freightliner set with 0-6-0 diesel. They are blue.

Thats great to hear about your AL1 Russell. I bet that defiantly brought on a smile when you ran that with your electric blue grey's after Sam had worked his magic. Every one keeps say these toys were built to last! Oscar

Hi Oscar ,got a tip ,I have one of these units it was a bit noisy the motor out of the body was sweet and almost quiet ,but body on sounded like a concrete mixer put foam in the body no joy I could hear a vibration in the end brain wave ,I replaced the washer on the motor bogie screw which connects it to the chassis with a rubber washer and added a weight in the gap between the seating and motor bulkhead it’s now 50% quieter ,but can be put back to original in seconds ,result ,all the best Mark

Super video. Thanks for sharing. 20/- for a Pullman coach (£1 decimal) a huge amount of money in the day! I remember saving pocket money for a Buffet Coach at 18/6 (with twenty shillings in the pound it was much cheaper!).

Great video, Is that the Tri-ang 4B HO layout?
@oscarpaisley
@oscarpaisley 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you redhotmelter. The layout is a bit made up as it went along. It started on a lose version of Track plan 9 in the 1976 Track plans book 4th edition. And evolved from there as my interest in the earlier Tri-ang period grow. Oscar
