Really enjoying the build so far. Like the fact that your not just throwing it together. Unlike other videos I've seen out there. Some of them have been total hack jobs. Keep up the good work. You definitely have my attention with the build. Thanks man

Absolutely thank you for your support!! I’m building the car in hopes to show that they can be built without throwing big money at them. I’m trying to make fabricate and use parts I have to build it. So taking extra time to trying think things through as I go.

Enjoyed video. I learn a lot by watching and listening to you explain what has to be done when problems come up like the rocker panel, I Like the twist in the center post much better than shiming out the latch. A friend of mine put power rear windows in his conversion fixed pivot a rear with glass glued to bottom channel and power window unit in front .goes up fine and half a window show just like origional l l when down. Used mid 70 s ford car unit,

Absolutely thank you so much. I try to explain to the best of my ability and how I’m doing things. I have nothing to hide and if it helps someone else out with there build then it has been a great day. Because like many other people I look on KZbin when I’m needing help or ideas about how to do or build something. I’m very grateful that people share it. In hopes of doing the same to help out. I am planning to do windows just haven’t got there yet. I’m wanting to get outside finished and ready then move to the inside windows,floors,etc. thank you for your support.

You did a great job troubleshooting that rocker. I like how you solved the problem with an angle cut in the center. That makes perfect sense. Great job! Can't wait till next time.
@LovettSpeedShop4 жыл бұрын
Lol thank you! To be honest I worked on that rocker most of the day. It gave me terrible fits but I couldn’t stand that it wasn’t straight. So I just keep cutting measuring welding till I finally got it where it needed to be. It took a lot of time but glad I stuck with it. I feel it will pay off in the end with finish project.

I'm in the middle of a 2 door conversion right now. I know the challenges and surprises that grab you. Fortunately my car has little rust but old steel seems difficult to weld still. Let's keep pushing forward.

@LovettSpeedShop4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. No your sure don’t see them Like that anymore. I would have loved to see the whole car back in the day that the door came off of. I would say it was awesome! Everything is so exspensive now a days I would say is the reason you don’t see it as much anymore. It would cost arm and leg to have that kind of paint work done in today’s times.

Just a quick question, if you cut the front end of the passenger door off and leave the inner structure on it for strength you would still have the rear of the door in tact and weld it to the existing quarter. Would this maybe speed up the process? I have a reason for asking. I have a 48 4 door sedan I am thinking of converting and try to make it the aero coupe. It will be a lot of work but I am retired and stay around the house a good bit now days so my mind is racing to find something I like to build. I sure like the way you put your videos together. We are getting anxious.👍🇺🇸🤙😃
@LovettSpeedShop4 жыл бұрын
Well with the tri-fives the post has to be moved back to accommodate the larger size two door sedan doors. I would think if not for that that you could leave it together and cut the door down. Also the rear door post has to be cut out to make the rear window frame. I will be showing how I do that part in up coming videos. I hope this helps with your question. My opinion with the 48 is jump in with it have fun and build a awesome creation with it. Thank you for your support.

Lookin Good Man. Some advise for ya. Put some ear plugs in. And a mask when grinding. I got tinetus. All from doing that stuff. You don't want it. Thanks for the video. You putting in a complete new floor or patching it in. Whole floor pans are not cheap.
@LovettSpeedShop4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice. I am planning on making the floor pans from scratch. Hopefully with good luck! Trying to do the build with making parts and using what I have VS spending big money. Although I know I will have to spend money on the build at some point. I want to show it can be done without deep pockets is the goal with the build. Thanks for the support.

@@LovettSpeedShop good thinking. Takes a little more time but labour's for free. Is always my thinking. Good luck
@NotempoT4 жыл бұрын
I appreciate you taking the time to film and walk through your thought process. If I'm understanding your vision, as long as the upper half of the post matches the door/window frame, the lower half doesn't matter as long as it hits the latch correctly (because the lower is hidden from view)...Now that it is in, does it seem like cutting/bending was a better choice than just shimming the latch? Thanks!
@LovettSpeedShop4 жыл бұрын
Your very welcome! It’s hard to see from the outside but the door gap and window frame is actually one continuous even gap on the inside just like from factory on a real two door sedan. That way you can use the weather stripping and the whole nine yards. The reason I slice the post is because a 4door post is more straight up and down VS a two door sedan post. So to make it look as clean and correct as I can is why I slice and bow the post forward some. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for the support.

Thank you!! Lol I would love to win that 57. I’ve been aggravating him some about making it in to a two door. Who ever wins it I feel like the will be getting a excellent car. I great foundation to keep and fix up the way it is or make it into a two door. Following him too! You could be the winner!! Good luck to you and thank you for your support of my channel!!
