Just collected mine from the factory in France 🤩 It’s so much better than the 2020 model! Can’t recommend these bikes enough. bought mine this year and it is awesome as a fun bike to play with..HOWEVER if you buy this to compete in trials competitions then BE WARNED. the battery cannot deliver a full trial unless it is in a small area. I have done 4 Scottish events with it and failed to finish due to lack of battery by end of round 3. So very capable but until EM France listens and offers people who want to compete a discounted spare battery then these cannot compete. So get one to play with DONT get one to compete. Come on EM be sensible and get batteries out there for us,,,then you have cracked it

It is going to be very hard to detect when the motor is doing passive or active traction control. I predict electric trials bikes will overtake their gas counterparts in performance, especially in slick conditions. And it is only a matter of time before someone adds some gyro stabilization.
@TrialTube3 жыл бұрын
Woah this is deep and I look forward to that future!

I wonder how strong the gyroscopic force of the electric motor/drivetrain is compared to that of an ICE drivetrain ? Gyroscope forces stabilize the bike, Pick up a spinning hard drive and you'll see what I mean. I wonder if one could adjust the gyroscope forces up and down with different flywheels on the motor.

More reviews Danny! You are an excellent trials rider. But the thing which makes E-bikes revolutionary is noise. Hill and forest walkers hate the noise of petrol bikes- it's intimidating not knowing where the bike is going to come from in the forest. These bikes can go where other walkers are which has expanded their range and use by dozens of times. For me there is no choice- either be a pest on a petrol bike or stay away from areas where people are out walking- or buy an electric bike.

Thanks dude I am doing my best to get them out! I think you are right about the ability to ride in new places and we live in a special time where both styles of bikes are improving all the time! I hope we can keep the smell of 2 stroke forever. But my better nature knows things may change one day.

@@TrialTube I used to have a TY250. If I have any regrets in this life it's that I sold that bike hahaha. I love 2 stroke but I don't think people have really got to grips with the unbelievable low end power an E Trials bike has. You can take a leisurely 4 seconds to go up a steep incline on an E Trials but on the same hill, it must take a fast 2 seconds on a 2 stroke or it wont go up. No bogging down kicking it 40 times. Hate to say this but the power band on a petrol bike doesn't suit Trials bikes- suits other bikes fine. I don't think it will be too long before they put an electric motor in the front wheel too. @TrialTube3 жыл бұрын
The rock over feature helps the normal Moto trials rider swap over. And the weight actually isn’t too bad. They have lowered it well.
@sethadams44643 жыл бұрын
It’s supposed to help with stationary balance as well due to the rotation of the motor acting like a ticking over crankshaft providing gyroscopic effect. Or so they say 😊

@sethadams44643 жыл бұрын
@@waynesimpson2074 I did also find it helps with the transition from petrol to electric at first. It means you can ride almost exactly the same as an internal combustion engines bike so helps your brain get to grips with it but that happens pretty quickly! Then you start to realise you only need your clutch for building up revs for big steps and climbs etc.you can ‘stall’ the bike but then just twist the throttle and set off again with no clutch input and find grip in the wettest boggiest conditions. I’m a bit hamfisted with the clutch I’m kinda in or out😂 but with these bikes you can just ride on the throttle and concentrate on that. I’m loving it so far.
@danssubscriptions3 жыл бұрын
My understanding of the tick over is to introduce and “engine” like noise e.g. lower noise at idle and increased noise when reving. So when you have the clutch in and twist the throttle to load up the flywheel before hitting an obstacle it increases in noise to provide an audible tone like a petrol engine does.

Coming from snowmobiles and motorcycles, with all that’s going in the electric direction I have a feeling this sport is a great candidate for a complete flip. I think the give and take between gas and electric is possibly a very easy smooth transition in this platform. A lot less cold problems than a snowmobile. How is the weight difference and balance feel ?

I agree, I think if there is a segment that EV's could out perform their ICE counterparts it gotta be in a trials bike, they have the advantage of being able to have a lower center of gravity, and the instant availability of massive torque, and no need for high HP. I am not familiar with Yamaha's or Gas Gas EV trial bikes, but from everything else I have seen I would say Electric Motion is putting out the most advance motorcycle in the entire two wheel market, props to them.

Great review as always, had a 5.7, epure21 and now a 22 all three are great fuss free bikes. The TKO is better for more advanced riding but without TKO works just as well and a lot quieter, horses for courses. I agree a bit more ground clearance probably the stiffer rear shock and I believe revised head angle? We all know a good rider on a TY175 can trounce 80% of modern riders so regardless of the improvements the 21 and even the old 5.7 are still good bikes. Over the period of a Trial kickstarting a bike 50+ times and changing gear 1000+ times does use energy when you finish a trial on one of these puppys you do notice the difference a lot less aches and pains. Keep up the good work buddy.

@@Jitkoa1 "Tick Over" enables an “idle” mode that turns the motor at a constant, sustained RPM without the throttle being turned. I just got mine... It helps precision and traction with power delivery at the low end... you don't need to give it throttle and modulate at super low power, such as to hold position or barely creep along. @dan.e, it's not about noise, but it makes noise as it spins the motor at low rpm, so the noise you hear is the motor spinning.

Yep you said it ... "Sorry 2021 owners". EM's are pushing the electric trials innovation at such a fast rate, that last year's 2021 model is obsolete. So when do you spend your +£8000? Let's not talk about the loss included when trying to sell your last year's model. Yes EM , I do believe bringing out such big changes in models every year, does effect your customers resale values. You don't get that with a conventional , (top of their evolution), 2 or 4 strike trials. As you said, a few tweaks, every year. That's good for the majority of riders who buy new to keep, or second hand buyers who know their 2011 models is not that different from 2021, not that they would notice at their level of skill. I've dipped my toes into electric trials. I'm back on conventional bikes. It was a costly excursion. I Will wait till the electric evolution has peaked, or the ACU says "NO aspirated trials bikes".
