Hi Taren! I’m still trying to wrap my head around which direction I should go. I’m definitely not a great swimmer and I have my first 70.3 coming up this year, in Michigan. I’m trying to decide between the MX and the X2. The price tag is not really a factor, I just want to make sure I’m setting myself up for success and I’m not sure if the Max buoyancy is the best way to go, or the more streamlined and graduated buoyancy of the X2 is the way to go...any thoughts on which way I should go?

Im not a professional but i thought i’d give my two cents in case Taren doesn’t respond. I have an Ironman coming up (my first) and swimming is where i feel less confident between the three disciplines so i will be choosing the MX so i can be confident that i won’t drown or have any major problems in long distances, since you are doing half (1.9 km) maybe the X2 might make you feel more comfortable, idk, if i was doing half i would still chose the MX keep in mind they are both incredible options.

Taren, great video. Question: I'm doing the Escape From Alcatraz Aquathlon 2024. Because the water temp in SF Bay is 50F-55F in June would you recommend the MX over the X2?

Personally I wasn't a fan of the thicker wetsuit overall because it's such a specific wetsuit you shouldn't really use it for other races

Hey Taren, good review, thanks! Now I m thinking to buy PRO, should I buy sleeveless or full? I live in San Diego and temperature is not a big deal. I am more concerned about performance

Hi Taren, thanks for the wonderful review. At the start of the video you also talk about Discount on ROKA. Not sure if its the right platform to ask but could you share some discount coupons with me ?

does this extra buoyancy according to ur opinion Taren, makes you a bit faster?
@daniel_frq3 жыл бұрын
Im not Taren but as far as i am concerned yes, since you are higher above the water and facing more air instead of water and obviously water slows you down more than air

I’m so bummed! I just received my maverick mx. it ripped while I was trying it on! I’ve owned other brands and never had this happen. I love Roka... I have their kit, glasses. Really disappointed!

What makes a good wetsuit... is not so much design or buoyancy.. it is FIT. ROKA or any wetsuit would be worthless if the fit is bad. First three things you use to determine how good a wet suit is - FIT, FIT, FIT... then, all the other stuff you spent most of the time in the review.
