Look, i know as a western millenial there are a lot of things we wouldn't agree on, but the older gentleman with the most epic beard seems like the absolute best person to spend a calm day of reflection and learning with. I feel like that guy radiates peace and comfort so hard.

The dude with the long white beard.... you could tell early in the song, he gets it, he gets its all. He's the kind of "elder" you'd want to sit outside with over a cup of tea and just talk.... and probably leave with more wisdom than any 4yr college degree.

The elderly gentleman is also the most perceptive of the men in several other videos from this channel as well. Even though he likely has the least amount of formal education compared to the other reactors, he picks up what is happening in the songs earlier than the others do, and his interpretations are often closer to what the musicians were actually trying to say.
@Spugedelia77
@Spugedelia77 11 ай бұрын
This is it, you can really tell who is seeing the pain and the progress. What could that man have been with all the education in the world, if he would have able to get it all? There are millions of people like him without proper education and it's makes you really think, doesn't it?
@TakenTook
@TakenTook 11 ай бұрын
@@Spugedelia77 -- yet another reason why it is so upsetting to me that there are many people here in the United States, and in some other western countries, who don't appreciate the importance and value to society of having publicly funded primary and secondary education. Instead, they complain about taxes, or try to pressure, politicians into changing local laws, so that the same tax funds will also pay for private education, not understanding (or not caring) how that erodes the financial support for public education, leaving fewer resources for kids from families who cannot afford private education. Brilliant people like this older man end up not getting the education they deserve.

@TakenTook this is why I am as kind and open to learn as I can be, I may not always know the language, but if it is important, then the universe, or God, Allah, Yaweh, or whatever you want to call the thing greater than we are, will find a way to get the knowledge to you. This is only my opinion based on situations that I have no explanation for the way they ended.

He doesnt say it in this music video, but he has talked about it in interviews, Ren's psychosis and auto-immune disorders stem from having untreated Lyme's disease. He had it for about a decade before he found out he had it. During that time he lost a music deal with Sony and his physical and mental health deteriorated as he desperately tried to find out what was wrong with him. He was finally diagnosed with Lyme's by a specialist in Belgium. He could begin to treat his ailment but a lot of damage had already been done. Then a doctor in California heard about him and told him told him he could cure him with an experimental stem cell treatment. And I believe Ren is living in Canada now traveling to California from time to time to get these treatments. I got this information from Ren's interview with Justin Hawkins.
@nadomaya37
@nadomaya37 Жыл бұрын
Not quite. He went to California once a few years ago and had the stem cell treatment that gave him his life back (he could get out of bed and function with much less pain). But then he heard about another doctor in Canada who treats people with Lyme disease and helps correct the damage done to his body over so many years. He’s in Canada now to receive daily treatments at this doctor’s clinic. He’ll be there for at least six months.

Abdul, as he often does, nails it. The eternal struggle within each one of us to do what is right and good, as we fight what we know to be wrong and evil. Remembering we are simply human, and the way we treat ourselves and each other always involves a choice to use kindness or unkindness, good or evil. The biblical story of David and Goliath. David is a gentle shepherd who plays an instrument. Goliath is a much feared huge fighter. Nobody in the army of David’s side dares to fight Goliath. David steps forward, and volunteers to fight Goliath. Armed only with a slingshot, David flings a stone with his sling, and defeats Goliath. It is the quintessential story of the underdog defeating what seems impossible. I’ve noticed REN is enjoying success because of this video going viral. If he is being honest in this song, I fear that success is not something he is equipped to handle, as there is so much temptation in success in that industry.

Ren has autoimmunity disease from a tic bite in his early teens, which caused massive health issues. Depression from being sick in bed with pain and not knowing what was happening to him. I applaud him for being so strong

This is beautiful. Huge differences in culture but the message is the same. The guy who said: “If you want people to know that’s how you deal with evil, then I consider that as your triumph against it” - I mean, wow! Ren will love this.

These men are SO wise! 1:43, also 9:57. I have not heard anyone put it like this yet and it is actually 100% correct. He wasn't confident enough to fight the voices without help. The help he sought failed him; as time passed he grew in confidence was able to ignore argue and at times fight off the voices without help.

Wonderful…this is an amazing analysis and breakdown and how others view the artist. My daughter told me we are all born artists, sometimes we never get told this, art comes in many forms and I love the responses from these wise elders. May God bless Ren and all the humans that he is impacting right now in these unsettled times…no one gets out alive so spread joy, peace, forgiveness and tolerance

The point really was this was a performance and not a song , a message of HOPE against Evil. I did enjoy the views and especially the one with the white beard!

It would be hard to really appreciate this without knowing English. I'm an old rock fan, and like many others, have really been taken by Ren's talent. Hi Ren is a masterpiece, no doubt. This may not be a good reaction because it is not well known but the renowned artist Peter Gabriel used his recording studio to create international collaborations and one song features Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I think you, and they, might like the combination of traditional singing with rock instruments. It is a version of Mustt Mustt on an album of the same name which is described as the first Qawwali fusion album collaboration. It is really something special to listen to. Cheers

I read a long time ago that Art is Communication. So many reaction videos have described it as a work of art . Like a painting and a musical play.. Like a painting that you sit in front of and you feel something from it. It's communicating with you. this young man has done that and has gained a following through his art. And down the rabbit hole we go only to find that this person is so talented that you feel good that he's around and painting for the world . I'm 54 years old and I have been into art and music.but I have never felt this enthused as I do now. We are human and are drawn to the up and downs of life. And the more ups the better. The downs are there to make yourself get back up.

Ren wants people to talk to each other, debate, bring the world together even if we are different. It is happening. People of all ages, races, religions all talking, listening and hoping the world will be a better place.

MUCH MUCH RESPECT to you and the 3 gentlemen. I have watched many "reaction videos" to "Hi Ren" but this one was not only entertaining , it was enlightening for me as well. I am an American and, sadly, we as a whole tend to look down on other countries. But these gentlemen have smacked me in the face (I believe it's called "God SMACKED") with how wise they are. They really touched my heart with their end statements and I want to thank them for this. I am subscribed to your channel and have watched a good number of your videos. My respect for ALL the participants has been growing with each video, but this was not a trip to an amusement park or an airplane trip. This was deep and like a class in school. I look forward to more videos like this for I am a student of theirs. THANK YOU🙏❤

Who is the gentleman with the white beard? There were multiple references to his poetry, and I would very much like to read more of his work. Does he have any published works available? Also, this is the third TRYBALS video I've watched, and I'm hooked. The concept is brilliant, the people are insightful and charming, and the overarching goal, that of facilitating cross-cultural understanding and appreciation is laudable. Thank you for what you've done so far, and keep up the great work!
