because the versions they tried aren't 'hot' spicy; takis are just insanely sour and salty. trust me, an actual mexican spicy (e.g a habanero salsa) is way way spicier than pakistani spicy.

To Pakistani people, Western "spicy" food is for beginners! I have used Shan curry spice and it will definitely set your hair on fire--and I would use only about a quarter of the packet. Mama was right when he said, "This isn't food, it's just fun!" The snack food culture in a nutshell.

Yes but this is Mexican, they don’t fuck around with spicy, they are one of the expert countries along with South Africa (especially Durban which is the South African India city) and South Asia and South America and perhaps east Asia, and also Hungary I think

To be fair the International version has a different recepie than the original Mexican one. I tried them in the US and in Bangkok and they were pretty bland compared to the ones we get in México. Same for flaming hot cheetos.

I used to get Takis when I lived near a Mexican grocery store. Not sure if they were the authentic Mexican ones or the American ones, but I don’t remember them being spicy enough for me. I love hot, spicy stuff and if my eyes aren’t watering and my nose isn’t running, it’s not hot enough! The best, hottest sauce I ever had was from my favorite Mexican restaurant. I needed two ladle scoops on my burritos or it just wasn’t satisfying. I wish I remember what chili was used to make it!

@Rika Zia Coca Cola now has artificial sweeteners here in Mexico, the regular one has the same stuff as the coke zero mixed in with the cane sugar. They said it was to reduce calories to help with obesity but obviously it was to reduce costs since they are way cheaper than real sugar. And real vanilla is *super* expensive, 99.9% of Mexicans buy the cheap chemical stuff, I'm certain way more people use real vanilla in the US than in México just because of money reasons.

@Rika Zia Nah that water being more expensive stuff is crazy lol. A full 19 liters gallon of purified water costs around 15 pesos (depending on the region) and a 2 liters coca cola costs around 30-35. Coke being cheaper than water is just goofy.

Greetings from México: we do like these but it is a bit too sour for most people, specially by the end where you get all the lime chili powder at the bottom. Believe it or not is because I think it's aimed at children and teens: Here in México most candy are actually sour and spicy and not just sweet, sometimes not sweet at all.

As a South East Asian I always get disappointed by western’s ‘spicy’ snacks too. Like, you call that spicy?? Our regular snacks are spicier. 😂 Same goes for hot sauce. It’s just sour to our tongue, no heat at all.

Well the most popular "hot" sauces are primarily vinegar based. Very little true heat to them. That is what you will mostly find in a general food store. Same goes for snacks. As your average person here doesn't want their face melted off haha. But there are certainly US companies that produce truly Spicy (Hot) hot sauces and snacks, its just that you typically have to order from them online or go to a specialty store to get them. There is definitely a niche hot sauce culture here though, its just that only a 3rd of the population actually "Loves" spicy food.

in the caribbean our food is mostly spicy but not hot...spicy in that we use a lot of spices....but our hot sauces are not that hot.....i went to asia once......and most hot sauces were way too hot for me.

Not all hot things are equal. "pepper snacks" Are meant to just being tasty. Something you enjoy eating. These items are more about being a "dare" or to prove just how spicy you can take it. No one eats them for enjoyment or sustenance. These are items you just kinda laugh at and enjoy surviving.
