@Anna Inspain LOL I was thinking the same thing! 😂 I also thought that Tahir had lost his sense of taste on his first bite when he said that it wasn't too spicy. Then I realized that he'd only taken a small bite from the edge and probably didn't get any chicken. He definitely changed his tune midway through! 🤣😍

@@JohnLeePettimoreIII And to feed them!!! There are so many different foods in the US, as every state, county and town is different. Most ppl from the east don’t realize just how big our country is until they actually visit. They usually think that the US is just about burgers, pizza, fries, the more internationally known foods. I’d like them to be welcomed into people’s homes and eat meals that are made by actual families and people…not just restaurants and fast food joints. I would love to host them and feed them anything that they would want me to make. 😊

In the U.S. we call that a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Over here, the bun doesn't make it a burger; the protein has to be ground or minced. If I put a hamburger on 2 slices of rye bread, it is still a burger. I never heard of OPTP. I did a search for them, and they have no US or European locations. BTW -Nashville is a city in the U.S. state of Tennessee where the 'hot chicken" was first served.

I've lived in Nashville, Tennessee my entire life and I never heard of Nashville Hot Chicken before 2015. I mean, there was one spot in Nashville that had the "Hot Chicken" and although it is a great spot for spicy chicken, that's probably where it originated from and someone decided to capitalize on the name, not knocking it. I've had nashville hot chicken once in my life and imho, i'd much rather have the tennessee BBQ but these guys can't eat BBQ because of the pork, but goodness.. if these guys had Tennessee Beef Brisket, they would lose their minds... :)
@EvanEdwards

It, and hot fish, has been around long enough that it did spread a bit prior to getting popular. I live a mile and a half from the original Prince's (RIP), and there were a couple places before it blew up. But this is not Nashville hot chicken. Hot chicken is chili infused butter stuffed under the skin and then breaded so that the steam from the breading drives the spices into the meat (you need an oil to carry the spices -- butter is traditional, but a few other places do different mixes). When it went out from Nashville people simplified it to just "spicy sauce on a deep fried chicken piece, or any kind of fried chicken patty." Which entirely misses the point of doing it the right way: the chicken doesn't get that spicy hot mix driven deep into the meat. Since you're a local, check out Bolton's Hot Chicken and Fish for another place serving it prior to it becoming popular. Hattie B's and Pepperfire are fine, but you're right -- they popped up after it became popular. I'd say that was closer to 2010 than 2015, but that's quibbling. Of course, for great fried chicken, Uncle Bud's in Donelson and Monell's are the places to go. If you're reading this as a tourist and want a real Southern tradition, go to Monell's in Germantown, just north of downtown. Be polite and friendly -- this isn't a drink until you pass out place like the honkey tonks downtown, it's a family seating (everybody sits together) classic Southern experience. You'll get to know some folk and have an outstanding meal. I think Tennessee BBQ is muddled compared to our neighbors. There's a good bunch of it, but it isn't sharply defined like Carolina's pulled pork or Texas brisket. Personally I like Bar-Be-Cutie, but they tend east toward Carolina style BBQ. You seem to lean west, which is fine and available.

OPTP is not known in the USA. Also, in the USA these would not be called burgers; burger is a name reserved for sandwiches containing a patty made from ground meat. These would just be called hot chicken sandwiches because the chicken is a whole piece and not a patty made of ground chicken. Nashville hot chicken can sometimes be extremely hot and spicy. Usually Nashville hot chicken is served on top of sliced white bread, but I prefer it in a bun as it's easier to hold in your hands and eat.

I lived in Nashville 30 years and don't recall anything "hot" being promoted in Nashville at the time. Whether it be chicken, chicken wings or burgers. Good food but if you want hot you head for Memphis or New Orleans. The first thing I remember being hot was advertised outside of Nashville by KFC promoting Nashville Hot chicken. I think Tribal sampled that earlier. Most of the KFC stores in Nashville were understaffed, dirty and couldn't keep up with the salt or side dishes. I saw several new stores the last time I was there but I suspect they still have the same issues.

Nashville is a city in Tennessee known for its special chili spices. It's called Nashville hot. And they put it with everything from chicken to burgers. I'm not a big fan of it. I prefer buffalo sauce or just straight out jalapenos

Nashville has a local technique for infusing spices that has never really spread beyond the city. But for some reason, other places starting putting sauces on stuff and calling it Nashville Style. But that's not actually a Nashville thing. Other places started doing it and used our name.

Your videos are the best on you tube, thank you for them. We look forward to every video. Just to inform you a burger must contain hamburger to be a burger. Anything else we call a sandwich. Wish we could send your whole group to America and visit with them. Thank you again for these gentlemen's views on different food.
