I used to watch Deadliest Catch and to me the Cornelia Marie was always my personal favorite of any fishing vessel ever. Which is why a Captain Phil's death hit so close to home for me. Even though I was only 13 years old at the time it felt almost the same as losing a friend. A man who spent years of his life leading a ship worthy of a leader like Phil ultimately making the Cornelia Marie one of the best titles any fishing vessel and inspiring a 13 year old boy from sunny Southern California to live life to the fullest is more than a captain. He was a proven leader. RIP Legend......You are never forgotten in the hearts of those who admire you

Too soon. That was a hard one to watch. He became family to us all. Had the opportunity to run into The Time Bandit and crew while in Kodiak Alaska with Wounded Warrior. The guys hung with us, hugged us and showed us around The TB. Even teared up when they listened to some veteran stories of combat. Really, really good set of guys. Real Americans

Watching this clip broke my heart. It has ALWAYS been difficult for me to face the death of loved ones. I somehow seem to bury my grief so deep that I haven't cried in years! When I see clips or photos of deceased loved ones, my brain says,"They're not dead, you just haven't seen them lately." My brain cannot actually believe the fact that they are physically gone. I suffer from PTSD from 9-11, but this belief in my mind has ALWAYS been with me. It can get VERY emotional and physical for me.
