Aw, thank you for the kind words and comment, Kathy. I have to admit.. I fell head over heels in love with that beautiful family. And E9.... what a sweet and funny character he is... and in the next moment he's soaring through the sky like a big eagle. Just takes my breath away. I hope to maybe go down there the next nesting season when the eaglets have fledged and bring my camera. I'll be in the church parking lot hoping to spy the eagles and meet wskrsnwings on the ground. :) That's my dream anyway, #1 on my bucket list.

I've been following the growing up of E9 from Germany. What a lovely video, which is a beautiful summit of his lifespan up to now.I really do hope , the rest of his life will be long, strong and fulfilled. Good luck E9!

What an amazing family and what a wonderful tribute to E9. I'm going to miss this fella. He's a pistol and has kept me on the edge many a day with his adventurous soul. Thank you to all who make this possible. It was my first time to watch an eagle cam and you all make it feel like family. I will watch each year as now Harriett, M15 and E9 are forever in my heart.

I saw your heart showing through this video of probably the most loved, comical and entertaining eagle anyone could ever observe. I find it hard to believe there will ever be another E9 but who knows. Your video is beautiful and I will bookmark it for the future when I am missing E9. That means everyday. I know he will grace our skies for many years and just maybe revisit us someday. Whatever your reason for making this video legacy of our baby, I hope life treats you and E9 well. Thank you for the kind words, Grandma S. It is very hard to think that he won't be soaring beautifully or picking the snag trees apart where we can watch. But it's nature's way that he leaves. In a few years we may see Harriet and M15 chase off an intruder during nesting season, and who knows... might just be E9 returned. Researchers have shown that they do return within 25 miles of their nesting place to look for a territory and mate. And the male eagle at the Sauces nest used to be tagged.. and they had pictures of him when he was a juvenile.. and he came back to the area to settle down with his mate and have many babies. :)

Omg, I've watched your video a few times now and I really thought I was over our adorable E9 but there will never be another E9 eaglet. There are quite a few beautiful eaglet babies I watch every day and learned so much more about these majestic birds but E9 really captured our hearts so thank you again for this fantastic video. Thanks again Nancy. E9 is such a beauty, and boy.. did he/she steal hearts around the world. And yes, saying goodbye to him is really going to be tough. Every day I look online for him early in the morning (I set an alarm just for that) I wonder if the day before was the last time. Such a beautiful eagle, and I pray his life is magnificent and wondrous.

i do the SAME thing!!! It's 8 am CA time and first thing I do is check to see if he's still around. Just the thought of him leaving makes me cry. What courage it takes to want to leave the nest and parents to go to a place where who knows what will happen. At least we have your video to remember his by. Hugz

Ella, it sure IS a blessing indeed and it WAS a heckuva ride! I just watched yet another E9 tribute video and man, he is SUCH a cutie; I'll miss him forever. ♥ ...I've been peeking at other eagle families, (along w/tons of other critters) via my discovery of explore dot org.. I'm so grateful and thrilled to be able to experience - up close and personal - part of these blessed creatures' lives. However, young E9 and his parents will forever own a VERY special place in my ♥ since it was my 1st time experiencing such. God willing, we will have a new season come October! =)

Same here... E9 was such a special eagle and I will never ever forget him. Just fell in love with him the first time I saw him hatch. :) I'm also following a couple other nests, and watching the Great Horned Owlets (boy is that something to see), and an Osprey cam... the one with Glesni and Blue. They have 3 eggs and a few days ago one hatched. I've been so busy that I've not checked in so they all could be hatched by now. But it's the Osprey nest in Wales. HD cam, really cool to see them. But like you... I'm eagerly anticipating another season with H & M! God and eagles willing.... we'll see them raise a couple more eaglets. :)

I've been teary regarding this one for a while. E9 was just that perfect. (Don't tell the other eaglets but E9 is my favorite. It was E6, but E9 just has that extra something.) The farewell videos are going to start coming and I'm going to be a hot mess for several days. I hope you don't mind that I will be downloading your video for my personal archive of this nest. I have all of the season ending ones that have been made as well as the memorials for those that didn't quite make it as well as the goodbyes for Ozzie. I remember that day vividly...when he accidentally fledged and I watched him wondering, waiting and WORRYING that a car might hit him or that he wouldn't have the power to get back to the nest tree. Yeah I watched that fledge live too and just felt my whole body go numb when I saw him slip. Worried about those cars too, and also the crowds of people showing up. He came back pretty quick all in all, thank goodness!! You have a wonderful day, Nancy. :)

its been a wonderful 3 months following this beautiful family. I wanted to extend my appreciation to the family and people who captured all the special moments and share with us all. I have one question excuse me if its been asked and answered 1000x over! Why is E9 not getting tagged? So many of us will miss him/her when he takes to the skies for good

It has been amazing, hasn't it? I can't be there with my own camera, so.... thank God for the Pritchett family for giving us the chance to experience the lives of these beautiful animals. As for E9 not getting tagged, I can only tell you what the chat roll moderators have said about this issue, and that is... they just don't tag or band them at this nest. If you've ever seen tagging and banding done you'd probably understand why this is something that should be left to very specific and special circumstances. If the eagle or eaglet needs rescuing then they do tag them, but not just randomly. It does cause some distress to the eaglets and adults. I personally don't like banding or tagging, so I'm more than okay with them not doing that to Harriet, M15 or their eaglets.

This was my first experience watching the birth and development of any animal online...it has been some adventure checking in daily and many times during the day (even from work)...I fell in love with Harriet, M15 and of course, our beautiful E9...I can't imagine him leaving the set...Is it definite that he will leave the area? Do all birds leave forever? I get terribly emotional knowing I will never see this eaglet again...I feel as though he is a beloved pet. Thanks for the beautiful tribute Ella...I hope E9 will live a long and wonderful life.

E8 was very special too me,he had a very hard time, lucky to still be with us,he was one more fighter,the girls at CROW SAVED him, was scary lots of prayers went up for that baby,he touched my heart like no other,I love them all, can't wait for new season,watching the one in Alaska now,had some problems with trouble makers not live at the moment ,always trouble makers everywhere,glad there not put thru on our site😍

Thank you for the kind words, Kim. As for March 13... the only scaps I have of March 13 are during the daytime... and it was sunny. If it rained it must've been while I was asleep. The scaps from the day before and day after are also sunny, no rain. Could it have been another date?

I can distract myself a bit by watching other nests, and I adore those babies too. But E9 has a very special place in my heart, like you... feeling that empty nest pain. *hugs*

Olga, E9 has migrated so we won't know where he is. All we can do is trust that God and his parents gave him everything possible to survive. Much of his success will come from watching other eagles hunt and fish, and of course.. trial and error. Harriet and M15 were seen the last several nights in the nest tree, and both of them look fine.
