George Chakiris really had the "it" factor! He was gorgeous and a stunning dancer that caught your eye above all the other dancers he was with. What a remarkable talent.

The Dancing and Acting, Writing were all perfection!!! I saw west side story for the first time in 1975 and it is still mesmerizing to Watch All those Multi Talented cast,meaning the Entire cast.

My lifetime's No. 1 idol I saw West Side Story at least 60 times in the cinema, 20 times on KZbin and every vedeo on George.

barbara tang My absolute favorite movie of all time. I was an 8 year old little girl in 1961 when my sister and grandmother took me to see it for the first time. I am 67 now and I must have seen it over 100 times. I've dragged my husband to every stage production. I've had a crush on George and also Russ Tamblyn my whole life (aside from my husband of course). He is still a beautiful elegant man. Elegance is the word I would use to describe him. And I also watch every interview I can find on utube.

Georges Chakiris doesn't age, not even one single grey hair at 86 ! and he is a living legend...

In Malaysia in the 60s, Hollywood movies were something speciaI, like gazing at the moon then (a dream), finding yourself standing there. I watched "Kings of the Sun" and "West Side Story" when I was abt 13 or 14 and have been a big fan of George Chakiris ever since.

I love playing "find George" in his earlier films. Of course, the Monroe "Diamonds..." number is the most known.

HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN BIGGER! THEN HE WAS! 🙂!
@troyannbladsacker18113 жыл бұрын
Orlando Cordova I think if George would have been born a few years earlier he would have been bigger. By the late fifties and early sixties the great musicals were unfortunately fading away. But you are so right. With his incredible talent and amazing looks he should have been a bigger star. I also believe Russ Tamblyn and Rita Moreno, also in West Side Story, should have been bigger stars also.

The tribute is cute and I'm glad they chose the "Maria" song since it shows his singing voice and it's from West Side Story. It ties in well.
@KSfan4ever3 жыл бұрын
The character Tony sang "Maria", not Chakiris' character Bernardo.
@lingeringquestions5193 жыл бұрын
@@KSfan4ever Yeah, but I think this is George singing the song here.
