I used to live in Trichy from 1978-1986...I remember watching Thirisoolam in Prabath, Vikram in Kalaiarangam, Thyagam in Jupiter or Palace, Sattam in Maris Rock, lots of movies in Saroja Theatre and Bhelec, Mouna Geethangal in Roxy, Salangai Oli in Raja, Kalyanaraman in Gaiety, and much more. English movies were mostly in Plaza. There was also another small theatre in Uraiyur that should English movies. I remember watching Tarzan, the Ape Man and one or two James Bond movies there. My classmate Nagappan's father was the owner of Sona and Mina. How many of these are still around? There was also another Raja theatre in Rail Nagar, about 150m next to Saroja.
