@ 7:09: asia has the most number of billionaires but in comparison to asia's huge total population, its "extremely rich" population is miniscule at (far) less than 1%. 1,146 billionaires / 4,740,000,000 total population of asia = 0.00000024 or .000024%; or not even close to 1% of asia's population are billionaires. this means wealth is not equitably distributed in asia unlike in europe or in the united states. similarly, the same can be said of the philippines where a very small percentage of the population controls much of the country's wealth. sad, but true. just look at bgc compared to the outskirts. on a positive note, income / family in the philippines & in many countries in south east asia, has been increasing in the past decade, albeit not as fast as we'd like it to be.

You go on and on about GDP per capita without talking about purchasing power parity. Like it doesn't matter if a european is earning 50,000$ if even that's just barely enough to live. Meanwhile an avarage asian can live easily with just 500$ a month.

There is also another interesting statistics - how much average salary coresponds with GPD per capita, which means how much money from your work you really get. My country - Czech Republic, is one of the worst in this for some reason, productivity pretty high, but salaries still like 1/3 of german, it's sad that it's still like that 34 years after fall of communism and when you consider that communists ruled here only for 40 years.
