Avocados are terrible for the environment but no-one ever talks about it. They divert whole river systems to water avocados farms which destroys local habitats. They can only be grown in parts of the world that trouble providing enough clean drinking water for the populous. Its a serious problem in some parts of the world.

I did some thorough fact-checking for a few of the claims made: Correct, Cows have a lactation cycle that requires them to be impregnated every year if you want to have consistent fat levels / them be healthy, but of course it is possible to milk them for longer, just like with human nannies back in the day. Incorrect, Milk is good for you because it contains a bunch of cool things like calcium and protein. It doesn't change your body's ph levels (that's a popular myth) because other organs make sure your ph stays stable, and like, seriously, if diet could change your body's ph level so much, us humans would have way more problems lol. The saturated fats in whole milk, however, might increase the likelihood of some heart / blood based health conditions, however they decrease the chances of others, so I'm not too sure about that one. I prefer skimmed milk anyway lol

also nobody really NEEDS cow's milk, you can also drink a calcium rich mineral water or eat other calcium rich products. Why on earth would one species of primate mammal be in need of a bovine secretion to be healthy, even though they didn't live together for 99% of the primates evolution. You need cow's milk as much as you need camel milk or cat milk.

everybody always ignores the one thing that makes milk worth drink in a nutritional sense, it's full of FAT. it's great if you want to put weight on, or have a low calorie diet that needs a boost. it's also the reason why it's great for developing kids as it's a readily available and readily storable cache of energy for growth. the other stuff like calcium, magnesium, protein and micro nutrients are just an added boon.

I've done some thinking since sips mentioned "imagine someone you respect taking a shit" in order to bring people down from their pedestal. It didn't work for me, I came to terms with that being normal, so I started picturing people taking a shit on my dog. Not only did this make me loose respect for everyone shitting on my dog, I now regard my dog a secretly traumatized from all of these famous people that shat on him. As a nutrition major, I can tell you that firstly Vit D activates the absorption of calcium. That is why Vit D is added to milk so they can be consumed together before that kind got rickets and osteoporosis was worse because your body will just rip calcium out of your bones if your blood calcium level changes. Also, vit D is a fat-soluble vitamin so you are going to only really absorb it when it can be surrounded by fat like in milk. Along with the consumption of dietary fibers and phytates, it further reduces your absorption because it binds it so less is touching your intestinal lining. ALSO when taking in any form of calcium tea and coffee have whats called polyphenols that reduce your absorption by 30-40% on top of the normal bioavailability is only 25-60% anyway you might absorb 60mg of Calcium from a cup of cooked spinach the most calcium-rich vegetable out of the 1000mg you need for the day and thats if you have enough Vitamin D at the time to activate the absorption. Though I can say that when your body is very low in calcium and vitamin D it trys really hard to absorb any little bit it gets so maybe like 80mg? But ya thats why lewis doesnt know what he is talking about.

But for a sweaty basement dwelling vegetarian who never sees the light of day and hasn't gone to a gym after calling his personal trainer gay, Lewis might get osteoporosis in the near future. Also Ca²+ ions are extremely important for neurological impulses.

To Pyrion it's the ability to suffer and feel pain. Plants don't have a central nervous system and have not evolved a way to feel pain and suffer. Pain is an evolutionary tool to avoid bad situations. You don't evolve to feel pain and not evolve a way to get away from the pain. Cheese is bad because of A) the calves who get killed B) the cows being forced into pregnancy repeatedly, having the calves stolen and then being slaughtered as soon as they stop producing milk and C) the amount of resources in both water, land use and feed that it takes to keep these cows going.

Also veganism isn't about being perfect. You can't live and not damage the environment and animals in some way. But it's about limiting your impact as much as possible and seeking alternatives. It's easier now than ever before to just pick the alternative and just do your bit. You can't sit there and complain about the Amazon burning down and big corporations while consistently and daily giving these same corporations your money. The reason there are so many alternatives is that business sees the money in it. If the more environmentally friendly/less suffering option makes more money these companies will jump on board.

On the topic of veganism; A big reason for it is that the entire animal farm market is very bad for the environment because of gasses and such, as well as the fact that it takes so much plant-based food to get animal based products in comparison to how many people that same food could feed in comparison.

Sips was almost right when he was explaining it but he didn't touch on a few important details. the fact is that the calf is taken from it's mother, who's kept in super confined area, so that the mother keeps producing milk. The baby will be made into steaks or whatever if he's a boy or and force impregnated if it's a girl (once they're a little older obvs) but back to mom. She will keep producing milk, praying, longing that her baby will come back to her, then after a long while of producing ur milk and cheese and butter n all that, she finally gives up hope of ever seeing her child so she dries up and when that happens, she's executed and turned into burgers. Some ppl disagree with the way cows r mistreated n raped n killed so they don't keep funding such a cruel industry by being vegan. And no, I don't think we should ban meat or stop eating it entirely but the dairy industry is probably the worst thing that I knowingly throw money into. Even worse than the meat industry coz the dairy fuels the meat industry. Pyriun just plz read a book, cheers Why don't u eat hunted meat or free-range chicken or something? Is it coz ur ignorant or just an ass? But the vegans who r like "ooh I'm a vegan coz animals can't give consent" can fuck off, ur just jumping on a trend and not doing research.

I am a meat eater and agree with what you said. The problem these days are these damn lawyers. The company will plaster "Free Range" because the lawyer will defend the company and say "well, it is free-range. The chicken was outside for five minutes a day and lives in a 2 foot by 2 foot enclosure, not a cage." 😑😑
