I have met Prince Charles and a few of the royals a couple of times: my dad did a lot of the electrical work at one of their properties... And one thing that hit me and my dad about them is that they were incredibly normal... Prince Harry (13) accidentally kicked my dad's toolbox over, so my dad told jokingly told Charles he needs to teach him to "pick is bloody feet up". That year we got a few bottles of wine from Charles labeled "thanks for the parenting advice". From all I gathered, when there is no press around, they like being talked to and treated normally.

I think that's proof that the news just likes to take things out of context and potray people as their extremes to make the story more interesting, when the fact of the matter is, everyone is mostly normal

12:20 George V famously beheaded in 1921... The last British monarch to be executed or assassinated was Charles I in 1649. Interestingly though George V was euthanised by his doctor when he was dying to preserve his dignity. Also so that his death would be in the important and respected morning papers instead of the lesser evening journals.

If you want to complain about the issue of kids being born into money, power and privilege then I'm not sure the royal family really fits the bill. Sure they are more visibly deferred to because they are in the public eye, but there are countless "rich kids" that get everything handed to them with without having to worry about the constant responsibility and insane scrutiny of their lives. I'm not sure many people would even volunteer for a place in the royal family if they had to live the full lifestyle.

I've heard all the classic terms like Pork roll/taylor ham same thing different names but growing up as an Asian in a city, never really used these terms in my life until i started gathering suburb friends. The british royal family seem to have had way more scandals over the years compared to the other European monarchies that still exist. And a lot of it seems to stem from the fact that they've been way more conservative with regards to marriage. Princess Margaret not being allowed to marry who she wants and Prince Charles not being allowed to marry who he wants. Soo much could've been avoided if they had just been less uptight. And at the same time their family also seems to have been way more accepting- and even encouraging of infidelity. Philip telling Charles that if he was that unhappy with Diana he could just get a mistress. And looking at the marriages of Princess Anne and Andrew it seems they received the same advice. Only Edward has kept it in his pants. And then the younger generation obviously, who seem way more modern.

The Queen isn't the head of the Church. She is Supreme Governor. Only Henry VIII erroneously declared himself Head of the Church. His Church was dissolved by Queen Mary I who reconciled it to Rome. Queen Elizabeth I then split again but didn't take the title of Head as that title is reserved for Christ alone.

Sweden is statistically the worst country in Scandinavia. It's NOT a bad country AT ALL, but compared to Norway and Denmark they are a bit behind. Norway and Denmark are consistently in the top 5 over happiest countries in the world where Sweden is consistent in top 10. Sweden has a much higher crime rate than the other two, especially violent crimes. On education aswell, Sweden is outclassed. So hope you never move to Sweden dear Sips. Ps. They supplied the nazis with all their iron and therfor was the reason Norway and Denmark got invaded, so the nazis could protect their iron income from the Allied forces. But still. Sweden is an amazing country with the most beautiful language in the world. Just a bit of neighbourly banter
