Love this Theory! We could also attribute a main theme for each game. Skyward sword’s theme being creation; seeing that in this story we witness the birth of the kingdom of Hyrule, the forging of the Master Sword and the beginning of the curse that follows the hero and the incarnation of the Goddess. Breath of the wild’s theme being destruction; seeing that in this story we witness the fall of the Kingdom of Hyrule, the defeat of the hero and the princess not being able to use her powers to prevent calamity. And finally, Tears of the kingdom’s theme would be Rebirth; a story where we rebuild Hyrule, reforge the master sword and maybe even find a way to defeat Ganon and the curse for good!

You have made me realize that Zelda games have much more attention to detail in the writing than I remember! I'm going to examine the writing differently when I replay the games now, so thanks! Also, it would make sense that skyward sword is about power since that game ends with you murdering GIANT hordes of bokoblins on your way to the final boss. Link has to use massive amounts of power through his weapon to overcome adversity in the the ending sequence.
@kaptainkozmos Жыл бұрын
I cannot unsee the references in the games, you have explained them really thoroughly. Well done on predicting time travel in TotK too. Also in TotK the depths represent Ganondorf and power, the surface represents Link and courage and the sky is affiliated with the goddess and wisdom. The new layered Lomei labyrinths further emphasize this by literally saying them outloud in the labyrinth quests. The puzzles in them are directly correlated too, just like the leviathan questline in BotW which is an excellent discovery on your part imo. There will be much more lore for you to explore in TotK!

I totally agree on your take on the theme of “scholastic vs monastic” in Princess Zelda’s character arc. What happened 100 years before Breath of the Wild is not her fault. If King Rhoam had of been more supportive of his daughter instead being so damn cold to her or allow her to research on the guardians & Divine Beasts, the second Calamity would have been prevented. Still… my hope in Tears of the Kingdom is we get to see Zelda thrived on her own as she continues to learn more as a scholar like the Silent Princess flowers. Thus, her relationship with Link blossoms to more wholesome as they prepare for the final battle against Ganondorf.

I think tears if the kingdom will also be alot about fear because power: symbolizes the ability to over come physical challenges and enemies using strength. Wisdom: the ability to over come puzzles and brain teasers to uncover mysteries and information. And courage: the ability to over come fear and anxiety to do what is right or necessary. Also they added much more monsters and caves to tears of the kingdom as apposed to the others 2 because of fear

If this game is truly going to focus on Link’s spiritual development, then we as players will be forced to act with courage. I expect the game will throw us at totally insane boss fights that we’re unseen in BOTW. The Gleeok is an example of this that we already know will be in the game. BOTW had NOTHING like that monster. Also just the fact that Link doesn’t have a functional master sword, and must instead craft weapons using fuse, makes his actions all the more courageous. I think this will be awesome as it will truly make us feel like the hero in the story-which when you boil this game series down is it’s entire point: to make us feel like the hero in the story.

I agree with this theory. However, I do not think that you will fight with Ganondorf, because in SS it clearly states this phrase "Those like you... Those who share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero... They are eternally bound to this curse. An incarnation of my hatred shall ever follow your kind, dooming them to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time!" The key part of this is eternally bound. I don't think it is truly possible to break this curse, but I don't think Ganondorf would have been bad without Demise's curse. I think at its true form, Demise is pure malice, as shown in BOTW with Calamity Ganon. I think TOTK will show the true fusing of malice back to its rightful owner, Demise, ergo Ganondorf will be fused to a form (in my opinion) more powerful than Demise itself.

I think the theory is super great and a really awesome take, and even well put together, but it does feel like the pacing is off. Every point feels like it was sort of quickly spoken through to get to the next one, and maybe that’s to help create quick-form content for reels and shorts, but I also think part of it is some lines/connections/points made that didn’t really add a lot and felt a little like pulling at strings. I think picking and choosing the strong points and guiding the viewer in a more paced and story-telling way of presenting it and you’re golden, other than that really really great!
@tannerpoulis3156 Жыл бұрын
I’m thinking part of what made me feel that is also the clips used. I’d say to try picking key moments of clips from the games and letting them play out, rather than having everything be sped up, as it can be a little disorienting and make you as a viewer feel like there’s a need to get through the video rather than really experience it.

Did you just make Groose a key part of the lore? Did I understand that correctly or do I need more sleep?

12:14 I don't think Ganon has ever been Demise's puppet. It seems much more complicated than that. I dunno.

I'm beginning to believe that this is the case. That Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom are all connected. There seems to be evidence that kinda supports this theory. Also, a bit of audio advice, make sure that the music isn't louder than you. Otherwise, the music will drown out your voice and no one will be able to properly hear what you're saying. Otherwise, I enjoyed the video. :)

Demise was the fallen hero of Lorule. Him and his armies came through a crack in the ground to Hyrule, that is his canonical origin, explained to us in Skyward Sword. In Link Between Worlds, when we fall through cracks in the ground, we enter Lorule, and back again. In Lorule, they have people that seem to be the opposite of Hyrules people. Zelda is wise. Her opposite is Princess Hilda, whose royal family destroyed their Triforce to stop the wars. Not very wise, as that only made things worse and plunged Lorule into chaos, and its denizens transformed into monsters. Links is courageous. His opposite was Rafio, who was cowardly and ran away from battle. He actively hid from danger, he preferred the safety of being a merchant. But what about the third person, Ganondorf? I theorize it’s Demise. Let me explain. Lorules triforce is depicted as inverted, the point is downward. Where else do we see that image? On Demises sword. Demises sword has a spirit in it, Ghirahim. The Master sword has Fi. Ghirahim in his final battle and Demise in his second even has his own Skyward Strike. Demise died and cursed “The Spirit of the Hero” and “The Blood of the Goddess Hylia” to reincarnate until he wins (Link and Zelda, with himself). But what about Demise? Why didn’t he resurrect? I think that’s because his body isn’t from Hyrule. So his soul reincarnated into his bodys opposite, the one naturally from Hyrule. Ganondorf. Let’s remember they all had opposites from hyrule/lorule. It would make sense that demise, king of demons, firey red hair, would reincarnate into Ganondorf, king of the gerudo. Ganondorf would have otherwise been a good and benevolent ruler, we see hints of this in Wind Waker when he talks about how he wants the green fields of Hyrule for his people, the Gerudo. But of course he went all evil, i theorize, because of the influence of the spirit of Demise reincarnated into him. I want the end of the cycle, the end of the curse, to free him of Demise, and the three of them defeat Demise.

I honestly prefer the Zelda stories that are more like side quests like majors mask or links awakening, it's nice to see link in different situations.
@naydinfar Жыл бұрын
Yes we need better sidequest missions in TOTK- ones that drive the story- the best one IMO was Tarrey Town
