In the US they sell drinks full of sugar for cheaper than a bottle of water its depressing. Anything that doesn't have loads of added sugar is sold as some premium health product.

Cost of living crisis where the biggest polluters keep getting richer and wealth disparity increases, rather than flattens as is typical in recessions, is not going to be good for the environment. Granted lower middle class have very high carbon costs from heating and travel but it pales into the general wastefulness, flights, etc of the very rich, despite the fact that the very rich have more secure energy efficiency.
@matthowells63822 жыл бұрын
The rich obviously have much higher per capita emissions and footprint but their total contribution is pretty small because there's so few of them when compared to everyone else. They're called the 1% for a reason lol. The collective contribution of the every day people in the west by far exceeds basically anything else, whether it's the billions in developing countries or the wealthiest 1% you're talking about. That's just reality. There's literally hundreds of millions of us polluting less per capita than the few ultra rich yes, but significantly more than anywhere else on the planet. Tackling environmental problems involves us all whether we like it or not, it's not down to one country, class or wealth group. It very easy to just point to the wealthy elite in their private jets and mansions and insist they're the problem (and they definitely are) but it would really make very little difference if only they reduced their impact. It's up to all of us
@brandoncalder75852 жыл бұрын
@@matthowells6382 As you said, every day people in the west. That is the largest set of polluters. Of course its a collaborative solution process. My point is that those worst effected by climate change will become even more vulnerable to it. Cost of living wont slow climate change down, it'll accellerate it. I was responding to what lewis said. To your point the distribution of per capita energy density in the US compared to the rest of the world.

About the no stupid questions thing. I think that came from self-doubt. I experience it a lot where I feel like I'm asking a dumb question so I say it's dumb. People can say whether it's dumb or not. But I think what it's really saying there is, any question is reasonable by nature of it being a question. For example, if we're asked something like, why do we eat? it's not a dumb question in the sense that it has a smart answer, but it's a question that it's perfectly valid to ask. Likewise we have to ask the same for more darker things like, what compels someone to do X. The definition of dumb is whatever you make of it. But I would go a step further and define it as a word that describes your misunderstanding. Because it's true. Stupidity is misunderstanding, as is viewing something as stupid. Because there's no complete answer or question, you will read or answer them as the filler we call dumb. Because you can't fill the gap with your own comprehensive answer. Dumb of the gaps fallacy I guess you can call it? Why people do Jackass movie? Dumb of the gaps fallacy, that's why.

Interact with your hardware as little as possible. If possible you should not be in the same room as your pc. Otherwise, avoid looking at your pc or acknowledging its existence. This will massively increase its lifespan.

@@gent_Carolina On Drachinifel. You are looking at the word and making assumptions (1st is that I am an idiot, 2nd Drach is). He has covered the reason for the spelling, and people who give him 'crap/ ' throw shade' at him over it. So, no he is not As for knowing the meaning of things.
