Subscapularis is an easy tissue to miss, especially if you're dealing with impingement syndromes or rotator cuff injuries. Being a medial rotator, its best to treat subscapularis synergistically with teres major and teres minor.
I developed this approach specifically to make it easier to access the two superficial trigger points in the subscapularis. I find using a towel will help you both soften your approach and help engage the tissue. This is especially important as you'll be working in an area most clients will be fairly sensitive in, so it's super important to help them relax. If you're too deep or rough, they'll just push you out
Approach from the anterior side of the teres major and minor, then slowly rock from anterior to posterior while sinking in a bit more each time. You don't want to be here too long; about thirty seconds is usually enough.

Excellent technique; I’m going to try this on my husband. He has chronic left arm/shoulder issue & working the sub scap has really helped him. This looks much more comfortable for the client & easier for the therapist to access 👍 Many thanks 🙏
