I tried your recipe twice and was pleased with the results.....delicious. I tried it with rum and wine soaked fruits. I had the fruits soaking for about 4 years. The end result was awesome. Very, very delicious. I did it in cupcakes though. Wish I could send you a picture.

Nice recipe. You can add some chopped walnuts to make a Coco(Nut) Sweat Bread. I've also used orange juice instead of water to make an orange coco(nut) sweet bread. The slight tart mixed with the fruit gives it a heavenly taste. With orange juice is use half a tsp of baking soda and 2 tsp baking powder.

miss lady don't break that coconut like that for me pls. when I saw the way it was brake I say u were gonna get cut, brake up the coconut into small pieces so that u will have manageable pieces to work with ok . do it the Trini way. pelt the dam coconut outside lol lol

Exactly...I put it in a clear plastic bag, tie it. and throw it up in d air, landing on concrete outside..it actually comes away from the shell on it's own lol..my brother does laugh every time I do that.

Yes you could eat it with cheese and it is very nice with the cheese it's remind me of Jamaican spice bun with cheese

Girl, try it with cheese, it's good. I realise that we in Barbados use more coconut while you use more fruits. We use most raisins in the bread and cherries to decorate the top and that is for home made bread. The commercial ones tend to have only raisins.

I use coconut milk from the same coconut. I heard someone once used a smalta. It's tasted really nice but it had more of a cakey texture

Thanks for that video. You broke it down really simply. I like sweet bread but not with cherries or mixed fruit. I can do the raisins. I can only do the mixed fruit in black cake cause you don't really taste it with all that alcohol. I think I'll try your recipe.

I’m looking to make long ago sweetbread I’m not a baker but I kinda remember it in my head, so depends on th ingredients ppl use I knw if it’s wht I’m looking for.. this looks like it..remember that sweetbread with raisins no fruits it was so basic😁and hers look like it’s going to be heavy and hard like long ago😁I could easily call my sister in t&t but I like doing it on my own..Great video TY

I don't like coconut and fruit expect for cherries in bread because I use them separate in other ways of cooking, but instead of butter I put peanut butter, instead of the stuff she put I use chocolate, cherries, and almonds. I even like to make mixed snack squares with peanut butter, chocolate, cheeries, and almonds, put the batter into a pan to freeze for 15 minutes or more, last cut and enjoy
