I didn't know the first one but it made more sense that the mango will absorb much more of the flavors thanks for the video

Love Mango Talkari, never had it in Guyana but heard it's getting popular there now. My Trini friends from work introduced me to it years ago and I have loved it since. Go nicely with Dhal, rice, all kinds of chokas and fried bangamary. Good job. Tks

Hi Jenna, this is looking yummy. The second version looks more palatable, the mango softer. I used this recipe with tamarind yummm,still await the kutchela recipe. Thanks ahead of time keep safe

Both were actually very very soft... yes!! Tamarind done this way is delicious!

Nicely done Jenna! I’ve never tried cooking it without boiling, however I knew someone who cooked the mango without boiling it and she let it steam on low heat in its juices. Let me tell you that was the best mango I’ve ever tasted.
@JennaGTheHijabiTT3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Well it boils in both versions... just the first version it boiled in the water and the amchar masala mixture as opposed to just boiling it first in water only like in the second version. I loved the flavor from the first version more as the mango boiled in the amchar masala 😋😋😋

If I boil the mango before can I omit the sugar? Love mango takari with plenty pepper. Just looking at ways to minimize or cut out sugar

You need to boil the mango first
@JennaGTheHijabiTT3 жыл бұрын
Hey...I’ve actually done it both ways and my preference is not boiling it first... but curious to know why you say it should be boiled first... is it something with the cooking of the mango or just a preference?
@chantillyc33153 жыл бұрын
Hi JennaG .boiling is just to get rid of some of the sourness if the mango isnt too full.
