my dad had a friend that had an electra theyre absolutly beautiful but to me they cant compare to a twin beach its just my opinion your plane is absolutly awesome man i love it thank you so much for sharing i really enjoy listening to those radials my harley davidson was actually designed after the radial not many people know that

Irespect them more than you can imagine. the balls on those guys flying in nasty weather and homing in on targets with very little info on actual conditions or even charts of the area. crazy stuff.

6:07 Old jalopy is blocking view of that beautiful airplane. But seriously, what are the maintenance procedures to keep the Electra's exterior shined and polished? I'm sure the Electra is Joe's "baby" and it is his passion to maintain it, but what do you estimate the annual cost would be (just for keeping it clean and shiny) if you had to pay a trusted shop or specialized detailer for the work? Thanks for sharing your flying adventures with us.

Hard question to answer since it totally depends on how much you fly. You’d probably have to pay a couple thousand dollars each time you have it done unless you have friends that come help out for rides in the plane. Also depends on how much of the work you do yourself. But that airplane is in a whole nother category from my Beech. You could probably buy 5 or 6 Beech 18’s for what you’d pay for that girl.
