I made a series of doors with hanging signs in front that tell me IN ALL CAPS to unspec hunter, grab my gear and bags, put blocks on my bar, etc. I've had...fewer incidents since then.

I've tried that in my own base, but eventually you just become numb to the sign's presence. I still forget to unspec with the sign and the flask staring me in the face INSIDE my portal frame.

I guess he lives in the middle of Canadian nowhere, which is pretty vast. So even if he goes out, there is no one to offer him leaflets within 100 km :D In fact, when Etho told Tango about the young woman he saved after a car crash, I think he implied pretty heavily that he in fact does live in at least a somewhat remote place.

Etho was only half right. We Canadians do have the leaflet people, but instead of paper, it literally is ipads. You don't sign a paper, they make you fill out a form, right there on the street, on their iPad.

18:55 You could even sweeten it by telling Etho that while copiously takes additional durability from your tool when it procs, a hammer bypasses that! Hammers basically last forever for vault ore mining, while regular Paxel goes down super fast if you have a lot of copiously.

Thank for the video. Always a lot of fun to see you playing with others hermits. I don’t know the design decision being Chaos theme and vault hunter in general but if you want a better repartition of the randomness of the chest which still feels random but is more controlled. You can instead of doing a random draw for each chest, use a pool of chest where each time you pick one chest at random from that pool until the pool is exhausted. Then you regenerate the pool again and so on. You can control the rarity of the chest by adding several the same types of chest in the pool. For example, if you have 3 wooden chest and 1 gilded chest it means you have a 75% chance of getting a wooden chest. This should help guarantee that the repartition is more uniform if this what is wanted.

We have these organisation representative in denmark as well. In the mall there are the phone people just standing around, and at the station and schools we have the donations for good causes. It is quite like being attacked. haha

I’m from the U.K. and there’s DEFINITELY the guilt tripping hand out people near me, in Birmingham! Mostly in the city centre. But we call what they give us “flyers”. And, I must admit, the guilt definitely works on me (occasionally) 😫

In the US, high pressure sales like that are more or less illegal from a 3rd party. You get some sales people at your door, but loitering at public areas is generally not allowed.

There is a particular Walmart around here where some guy is always trying to get you to change your home utilities provider. Just comes up with his clipboard and randomly asks you who you purchase electricity from and tries to go into his pitch. Now that I think about it, I just assumed that kind of thing was happening all over the place, but I haven't seen it in any other stores. Plus if they are bothering customers, and any of them take the time to complain, and the salesman is not associated with the store, then you better believe they are going to get trespassed from that place eventually.

The leaflet people are important as they remind us that the bad things still keep on happening in the world (like the genocide in Gaza). A small amount of guilt is also a good tool to make people change their minds or donate, which is often the easiest way you can help with issues far away.

There's nothing wrong with charity drives, but there _is_ such a thing as being too aggressive about them. So far as I've seen many times over, the best way to run charity drives is with big, fun gaming events. The one Imp and Skizz participated in recently was so effective, they actually surpassed their goal by a little bit. It is also very true that charity streams can underperform, but for the most part, being able to present the cause in an honest, and clear cut fashion can really help with things like awareness without being...y'know, 'douchy' about it. 😅

We have those "sales people" as well. Typically they are working for charities or random causes. We call them charity muggers, because when they sign you up for something after making you feel bad like that, you feel like you just got mugged. It's actually a really horrible practice that needs to be stamped out.

I was jsut thinking about the hammers... aren't they super OP against melee mobs? They will break a 3x3 (or larger, depending on the jewels) slab of blocks, oriented on the plain of the block face you are mining. So, if you bring that up to 5x5 you can mine the front face of a block at a drop down and create a trench that's 2 blocks deep and most mob's AI doesn't know how to cross it. They just run in there (to get as close to the player as possible) and are stuck, while the player just easily jumps over it. With a 7*7 you can completely block of most corridors within half a sec of mining and for the cost of 1 durability. I'm not sure if those guys handing out flyers for charity are really doing something good... I mean, most large charities nowadays spend like half the donations for advertisements and stuff. They annoy you so much, so you are giving more. They intentionally target impressionable people, like elderly, to emotionally pressure them into paying, sometimes even talk them into giving unreasonably high amounts. Not all is good if the cause you do it for is good.

Just a note that you can find out how much charities in the UK spend on fundraising at the various charity commission websites (as well as e.g. high salaries). Is something I tend to check before donating. 50% of funds raised spent on fundraising is rare in my experience.

There is a horrible way to deal with the guys who open with "did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death in Sweden?" (It's usually hjärt- och lungfonden) and then they talk about wanting to change that. You can ask them "do you prefer people died from cancer instead?". Because something has to be the leading cause of death and if they manage to knock heart disease down it's not hard to find out what will take the first place. I've only done this once. The expression on the dudes face when I said that made me realize that I'm not cruel enough to use that response again. Regardless of how annoying those sales people are.

I think anything you'd be donating to to help homeless people is just a band-aid solution. If you really want to help homeless people vote for better social programs, housing programs, rent control, free and accessible mental health services, drug rehab services, etc. Stuff like that would actually fix some of these problems and prevent people from becoming homeless in the first place.

Since the vault is daylight, drowned stay in the water so they don't burn and they are passive against players on land. It's a mojang thing so idk how easy it'd be to change their ai

In the US most cities have solicitation laws that require a license to distribute leaflets, etc. in public places. And it is illegal to put them in people’s mailboxes.
