7 weeks ago, I had surgery for a hernia that was likely brought on by increased activity since my Humphries Peak hike in June. Even after the 3.5" incision and tissue disruption, I was blessed to have had a relatively quick recovery that accelerated briskly after the initial 7-10 days after surgery. I was able to hike after two weeks and was biking and doing push-ups by three weeks. At four weeks I was skateboarding and into my second week of mountain hikes. This is my four visit since surgery to two of these peaks and I threw in a third one just as a way of gauging myself for my two biggest treks. There's some nice desert scenery along way but footage is a bit shaky at times since I was using the wrong, non stabilized camera lens on my phone. This was an oversight so sorry about that.

Glad there was a quick recovery following surgery. Definitely got your work out on that trail. Nice the sun stayed behind the clouds for you as well. Those long hikes with the sun beating down can really take it out of you.

+Cr0cket20 Thanks Crocket! A very fortunate recovery for sure! Desert hiking in the summer time is perhaps the most butt-kicking thing I do but it's always a challenge. It's probably how you feel when you've been hiking at altitude all day, I guess.

Great workout brother! Cloud cover, hydration, fueling up, good mental attitude & the right gear all added to a solid finish. It's been good to know the backstory of the past two months to have a better sense of appreciation of moments like this. We are blessed to be able to get out and adventure. Big or small adventures, it's all good. You nailed it, Humphreys peak here you come!

+CampfireTalk Speaking of "my good friend CampfireTalk!" Yeah, you've sorta been there through the weeks with me buddy. Like you said, doesn't matter if it's big or small, it's just the joy of getting out there and the blessing of health that isn't even due to us. Call you the day before I hike it bro.

How did this one sneak past me? Gotta think the surgery was a success, eh? More stunning sights, unique peaks and lots of sweat - all good elements to getting "out there". Well done once again!

Hehe, I was wondering why you were not so active since the last video, but hey, glad to hear (and see!) you are doing better. Please don't beat yourself up trying to make content though, I'll just rewatch some of your older stuff. Hope your recovery is progressing nicely, and thanks for the video. Was a hot sweaty one but I'm glad you had cloud cover! :)

+GrognardOfXCOM Hey brother! Yeah, that's why the vids have been slow. Normally, I'd be doing a lot of trips to the pines but I didn't want to get back deep somewhere and not be able to change a flat tire or something. Per your suggestion, I'll definitely not beat myself up for content and thanks for the slack! :) I'm going to try to get a gear video out in the next few days, then after that, the BIG hike! Thanks for everything man!

+cadrician You'd love it cadrician, especially in the winter time. That's when the desert hiking is just fantastic. I missed getting up to the high country over the summer so I'll probably mix in some snow trips in Nov. Thanks for the support over the years brother!

+Cragdwella I wore a cotton one the week before and just sweat through it. It also interfered with my hat because half the time when I took my hat off I pulled the bandana off with it. Eventually I just left the hat off and then got sunburned. I think what I really need is something that works with a hat and can be wrung out quickly and put back on quickly.
