I've had 25 years of OTR experience and that job made me strong and when you been on call 4 years straight it made me an angry asshole. When I started I weighed 175lbs 25 years later I weighed 260 and I was just a flipping beast. This is a damn good way to get a workout especially if you can stack a bunch of 14.00-24's 10 high by hand

Good job mate. I hate 14.00x24's and picked up some good tips from you .. especially the whole, "leaving the rim on the machine" thing ... I've been working on everything from 8" wheel barrow tires all the way up to 23.5x25's since I was born (family tire company) ... but damn 13.00/14.00x24's kick my ass every time.

The only thing I would have done differently is i would have pumped out the liquid before breaking down the beads. ( the excess water makes it harder to dismount, besides that who wants to work in mud. As for the question someone asked.the liquid ( calcium) is basically saltwater used for adding weight for traction and stability. .... good video and good tire tech.

I know it sounds weird, but try the flat end of the tubeless bar when mounting tires. Works really well, and gives ya a little more leverage. The bar only works on the one bead instead of both beads. that is if your bar has the little notch on it. Let me know what you think of that way. I used to love it...

If you don't submerge the wheel completely with fluid it will rust the wheel on the inside. you should get a fluid pump and a barrel and just reuse the fluid, save time and the back bead is easier to break when the tire is sucked down from the pump.

Actually it's really called Liquid Ballast, the most common type is Calcium Chloride however over the last few years a decent number have switched to beet juice due to it not being corrosive like calcium chloride is.

I've heard that calcium will rust the wheels quickly if they are not filled enough. Completely covering the wheel hub as to not expose it to air is the trick lo longer wheel life.
@63256325N
@63256325N 7 жыл бұрын
I guess, after hearing that, the only other reason for calcium is that it's heavier than anti-freeze. Can't remember by how much, but it's substantial.

@Puckgrinder85
@Puckgrinder85 7 жыл бұрын
Run with about 75% filled with whatever you choose to fill it with, a few options on what you can use. It adds weight for stability like said, but it's better than say steel weights added to the vehicle as its not supported by the vehicle's wheel bearings, axles etc. So less wear on the machine but still the same stability and better traction.
