While I see what you mean I’m not entirely sure. Since he had substance use disorder with ketamine (which is a dissociative) .. was his fidgeting a result of that drug, or was it just his anxiety and AD/HD? With a dissociative class drug you’re G-O-N-E so he’d likely do it in private, although some drugs DO have a lasting impact even when the user isn’t high, they’ve come down, yet in their day to day it’s been a long standing use disorder (speed, pain killers, and alcohol are all good examples). In other words, there are plenty of drugs where -even if you aren’t high at the moment- it affects your behavior in between using. While I can’t say I’m well versed in what someone regularly using ketamine is like when they’re down from it? Because it’s a dissociative it likely wouldn’t result in fidgeting and scratching. Also, I’m not super well educated in my SEVERE chronic/generalized anxiety yet (haven’t gotten in to therapy yet, we’re still figuring out a medication stack, and for 10+ years I thought I was, ‘stressed,’ until my new partner -we’d always been very, very good friends for 16+ years- clued me in. She’s been doing therapy, routine + medication for a long time) though I do know some functions of what behaviors manifest from a few types of anxiety. Although, on the other hand, I am well versed in my AD/HD as I was diagnosed young. Just from those two mental health struggles I’m always squirming, fidgeting, scratching at my self (it’s apparently some sort of nervous, self soothing thing despite how psychotic it sounds). It could totally be that he was doing that in the past due to that drug, but I’m skeptical due to the class of drug, and it is at least plausible it’s simply situational or social anxiety and AD/HD.

I don't think I would have a problem with most directions they take. The thing about being critical of art is it's just too tiring. Music isn't a contest of who can play instruments the best or whatever. I think as long as you're making something unique that you love and enjoy, other people are gonna resonate with that. FYI, being a producer and making music with computers can take just as much practice and knowledge to master as playing an instrument, and I play 3 instruments, and I'm mediocre as hell with a DAW. If you don't believe making a hip hop beat, or a rave song is difficult, you do it. You might be able to figure out a little bit, but mastery takes time.

My favorite sound was from Sempiternal and I like "chelsea smile" and some of the Suicide Season album. Amo.... I'm not sure about Amo yet, but just like i listened to all of "count your blessings" like holy shit I have to listen to Amo and feel it out too.... I love your sound from songs like "sleepwalking" "shadow moses" "chelsea smile"... The lyrics to "sleepwalking" speak to me and I love "hospital for souls" "don't go"... and "drown"... Bands can experiment all they want, it’s what helps them grow. But it’s when you abandon your core sound and don’t keep anything familiar is what pisses people off. If you keep the metal-core aspect but sprinkle in some pop songs every now and then people won’t mind too much and you will even get more “rounded” fans so to speak. It helps to bridge 2 worlds because a pop fan will listen to a pop track off the album and then listen to a metal track and be intrigued by the diverse sound on the album. This imo is a better alternative than doing an album every three years that is so blatantly one style.
