Part of a dying breed.Airports without Jetbridges But if you noticed in the video around takeoff, there was constriction going on. That is the new terminal being constructed.Looks like could have Jetbridges. Only Athens has Jetbridges in all of Greece

Hey man I just wanted to let you know that you are doing a good job! I like these little facts for e.g. that 6.5 million people travel through here which makes it 3rd largest airport in Greece (that's a feature not many aviation channels add these days)

Great work, nice vid, thanks for posting. Ellinair is a nice airline. It is unfortunate that in Greece that Aegean and Olympic merged and now with Astra airlines gone, Aegean has once again monopolized most the market. Ellinair and Sky Express are the only other two Greek airlines left and I wish they both prosper and grow.

What a great video! Unforunatelly Ellinair doesn't operate anymore. I flew with their AVRO. Also Thessaloniki Airport opened a new bigger, modern and functional terminal. Still no jet bridges there.

Neat trip report. 👍 Yes, Thessaloniki Airport is busy and can get crowded ... but you will have noticed Fraport is building a new terminal, expected to open in 2021. They’re also refurbishing the existing terminal so hopefully that should improve things. 🤓

I flew with Ellinair to Thessaloniki from Athens in July 2019 with one of their A319 aircraft SX-EMM on an 8 o'clock morning flight for 50€ with checked baggage.

Aaah..i am so happy for this video..You flew from my hometown! Actually Thessaloniki airport has 4 airlines based there..Aegean,Ellinair,Astra and Ryanair! The airport ,along with 14 others, is in a phase of expansion done by Fraport, so by 2021 we will have a new terminal and the old one renovated. Unfortunately Fraport has rejected plans for jetbridges because they claim it would eat up valuable space for the expansion project..!! Now call me crazy but where on earth have you heard that before? So they want to raise capacity to 8-10million pax but no jetbridges although with hiked landing fees,charges to subsidize their projects.. You can't imagine how angry people have been here with the previous government accepting such a proposal..I do believe Vinci would have come up with a better project..Anyway, glad to see promotion of our little 2nd airline..P.S. On what flight did you get to SKG?

Yes, the 737-300 is impressively quiet -- and very smooth in flight, too. I'm old enough to remember when they started replacing the aged and very noisy 737-200 with the 737-300, and the difference was striking. One thing I also remember was how Boeing's interior designers seemed to have really used their brains, as the cabin felt roomier without really being so, due to the more intelligent design of the seats and overhead bins. It was a major but underrated milestone in Boeing's history. The difference from the Classics to the NGs is not so noticeable, though certainly very much so for the airlines in terms of fuel costs.
