As someone born and raised in Lübeck, I had heard all the news about the airport being in trouble, with carriers vanishing and multiple owners not getting a grip on things. Seeing this makes me really happy, the clean terminal, the spacious plane, friendly personnel and nice treats. So good! I need to find a reason to fly with them 😂

When did Lubeck get a Airport? I was not born there but I did live in Travemunde. I use to work on ATR-42 and 72 when I worked for Trans States Airline.

@@ximenoworks The airport exists for over 100 years already but I think the regular passenger airline use really started in the 90s (after the wall fell). The airport is in the southeast of Lübeck, near the medical university, if you can recall where that is. Quite far from Travemünde.

What a cool airline and trip! I didn’t know “virtual airlines” existed. It’s “little” details like the snack box/bag that will make a difference, especially in today’s pandemic-aware times. People are getting really educated really fast anymore; We’re researching reviews like these and making decisions based on what is reported.

Great video! Airline is epic, the cabin isn't modern nor outdated, just a basic easy cabin, love it. I just love how they still served a meal afterwards, overall, looked like a lovely experience on this rather unknown airline!

Great vid! I didn't know Lubeck had an airline, or even an airport. I visited Lubeck a few years ago - and just loved the city. Best wishes to this airline and it's employees, I hope it does well. Rgds from Canada.

Visited my sister In Kiel due to her wedding, and one of the places we visited in that year was Lubeck and its beautiful Holsten Gate. That was awesome!!!!! Didn't know they got an airport.

Thank you. These regional airlines that service secondary airport and/or towns are especially welcome. The ATR 500 was also an enjoyable change. Service and food looked excellent, as were the Covid19 provisions. ps. In Victoria Australia in the wheat country, there is a tiny hamlet called Lubeck. :-)

SE-MDB and it's sister SE-MDA were delivered new to Golden Air in Sweden in full Aer Arann livery since they were supposed to be delivered to them. They then flew with Golden Air->Braathens Regional->BRA until they went with an all-ATR 72-600-fleet. SE-MDA went to Danish Air Transport and on to Air LEAP and SE-MDB went to Alsie Express and now Lübeck Air

Well, the ATR72 is Lübeck Air's aircraft. They just give it to the Air Alsie crew to fly it. Stöcker has the money. The rest is great!!! :)

From WC, at least Lübeck has an airport, Regensburg where I was stationed for 3 years USAF, had no airport! It was a great city of 150000 but if you needed to fly Munich or Nuremberg were your only choices! Great Video!

Their main routes are to Stuttgart and Munich. This summer they also launched a flight to Bern, which as good as I know is continuation of the Stuttgart flight, and to Salzburg

No autobahn (with all the roadworks) or ICE can take you from Lübeck to Stuttgart that fast. That's 700+ kms in only 1,5 hours.

Well, the stupid policy in Germany didn't use the potential of trains. Lübeck - Stuttgart/Munich would be possible in 4 hours by train. If we had invest enough. But they didn't. And so people will fly - that's it.

Lovely airline, but I don't get their business case. What niche are they after? They only fly daily to Stuttgart. Munich is only offered 3x weekly, and they fly to some randomish airports 1x weekly. Like Bern and Salzburg. They act like they serve business travelers, but they don't offer the flexibility. Imo the airport better could invest in a partnership with Eurowings/Lufthansa to fly 1x daily to MUC, FRA and/or DUS. Just like Paderborn airport.
