Dead people cannot pray. You can pray GOD in the name of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Dead people, whether righteous or not, whether in Christ or not, are waiting for the resurrection when Jesus Christ returns the second time to judge the world. Then, both the righteous and non-righteous will be raised from the dead, and separated on two sides, one for eternal life, and the other for eternal death. That is why you must not follow human traditions of the so called "Christian Churches" but the WORD of GOD which is written in the Bible. Do not be carried away by lying spirits that corrupt GOD's WORD. Read the Bible, to understand that what I tell you is true. And lose the added apocrypha books while you read which the Orthodox and Catholic churches use in order to support their false doctrines, which contradict the rest of the Bible. GOD has forbidden worshiping the dead, calling out the dead, and counseling the dead - because all of this is witchcraft, done by the deceiving powers of demons. The Bible says: Dead people know nothing, they are sleeping. This is why worshiping Mary, is a blasphemy, because Mary, just as the apostles just as any other dead person, are dead, unless they, as Moses did, have received special resurrection, or as Elijah was, were translated to the heave without receiving death. Praying for dead people is also useless and faithless, because there is nothing you can do to change the deads or the faith of someone who is dead - you cannot intercede in their behalf, for they must make the choice of receiving Jesus Christ and His Righteousness in their heart and live by it. A dead person cannot receive or give anything, and cannot make any conscious choice. Step outside of darkness into light, by reading and hearing GOD's Word - not human traditions, which are pagan and satanic in heart. May the glory of Jesus Christ dwell among anyone who is reading this in fullness of humility in heart and has the courage and faith to follow GOD's Word unblemished and spotlessly. May you be blessed in His truth and grace - His be the glory, for Jesus is the only begotten glory of the Father in heaven. Amen.

I always forget that Ethiopia is Christian and Orthodox. How beautiful, I've heard Ethiopia is a beautiful country but that it has been in civil war for a long time. I always heard there was a coup in one of the churches. I hope your country finds the peace it deserves. Beautifully Done! I read the book "Wounded by Love" some years ago and fell in love with this beautiful Saint. I read this to my children and they loved it as well. We marveled that in the book it spoke of how Saint Porphyrios did not know the meaning of laziness. I pray to him often for my grown children. Just the remembrance of his name warms my heart with love. Pray to God for us St. Porphyrios.
