The world mourned so much because his music evoked memories in *ALL* generations. Literally everyone in 80s was a fan and so, a lot of memories come with his music. The entire world stopped it was insane.

I’ve been to three of his concerts. One was The Jackson’s Victory tour with all of the brothers and Michael. And two of his solo tours. Bad and Dangerous. And it’s impossible to describe to you how it was to be there. It was electric. It was alive! It was unmatched by any concerts I’ve ever been to before or after. And yes a lot of girls and guts passed out. He will forever remain not only my first crush but my favorite artist ever. There is and will never be another Michael Jackson.

I saw them in concert for the first time after ten years of watching them perform on television variety shows on May 4th 1979 at the Sunrise Musical Theatre in Sunshine FL. I was in the USAF stationed about forty miles from the venue. I went early to hopefully catch them doing a sound check, but that didn’t happen but l was able to be in the back of the theater when they arrived. It was me, them and the limousine driver. This was before smart phones so l wasn’t able to get a picture and l didn’t have an autograph book, so all l am left with is the memories.

Michael was the youngest of the group. The other little one is Marlon who was about a year older than Michael. In total there were 9 Jackson children, Michael was the 7th of the 9 and they had another brother named Randy who was 3 years younger than Michael who would join group a few short years later. And Janet Jackson was the baby of the family.

A little more of the back story, I was a couple years younger than Michael, this was in 1969 and we had just come out of a *TERRIBLE* political decade with the assassination of a president, JFK’s brother, Malcolm X, Dr. King and we were still struggling through really bad racial strife. Then came the Jackson 5!! They brought a lot of joy, fun, good vibes, dancing and wonderful energy to a tired nation! They were also the first black teen idols! *EVERYONE* LOOOOVED the Jackson 5!! I think they really helped bring the country together in their own way! :) To debut on the nationally famous Ed Sullivan Show and then rattle off *YEARS* of #1 hits in the 70s, and then for Michael to become *MICHAEL* in the 80s was a really interesting period.

But otherwise no, I don't think anyone should be grateful for that at any cost to the person/ people involved.

So loved you two reactions to this amazing performer performance. I remember watching this in real time as a little girl. My whole family gathered in front of our t.v. to see the Jackson 5 first appearance on the the Ed Sullivan show. We were already jamming to his records in amazement before this. Everyone knew Michael was special and he and his brothers was going to be super stars one day in their own right with Motown backing them. So, we wanting to enjoy the Jackson 5 as much as possible before the whole world celebrated them. Unfortunately, when they came to my city during this time I was too young to go see them in concert, it was a big deal, everyone just knew...probably not to the highs Michael reached, no one knew or could image.

You should check out some of the bands other songs too such as "Family Affair", "Everyday People", "I Want to Take You Higher", "Hot Fun in the Summertime", "Sing a Simple Song" and "Dance to the Music". The other "main" singer is Jermaine Jackson. He had a nice solo career when he sliit from the J5. I went to a J5 concert that included the 5 brothers plus Rand and Janet.

Time Waits For No One is probably one of the most under rated Jacksons hit. Its off of the Triumph album in 1980 Michael was 21 or 22

Love y’alls reaction to this video. Y’all have to react to the full Jackson 5 & Michael Jackson Motown 25 performance in 4K. it consists of the Jackson 5 performing a medley and Michael performing “Billie Jean”! It’s the performance that put MJ on the map and where he debuted his iconic moonwalk for the very first time! would love to see your guy’s reaction to that!

You know how artists today have Hives? Like Taylor Swift has the "Swifties". Beyonce has the "Bey-Hive". Rihanna has the "Navy". MJ didn't have or need a hive because most of the humans on earth was his hive lol. They used to premiere his music videos on channels that didn't even play music. Thats how big he was.

Glad to see that people also realise that his siblings were talented too, especially Jermaine who has a very good voice, but of course MJ was very gifted in many different ways. He performs "Who´s loving you" like a pro who has been around 40 years on stage. Insane.

I attended a Jackson Five Concert when I was about twelve years old. It was the most amazing concert I had ever been to. What I found weird was that there were grown women acting out like teenagers. What I did not know was that Micheal was going to be globally iconic. That is why it is so important to enjoy each moment because you never know if the moment you are living will be the best of all time until the time comes when you will realize it was!

y'all should react to Motown 25 from 1983 the Jackson 5 reunited after 8 years to perform these same songs plus MJ does a solo performance of billie jean afterwards. the billie jean performance is the reason why his thriller album is the best selling album in the world and 2nd best selling album in America

music of today is too samey. still some top songs etc but mj doing a moonwalk even during dangerous was like, mad insane, because there was no reference to go look it up. You could go to a library or hope a concert would be on tv or on video, nowadays we have access to literally everything and everyone. I cannot stress how alien-like a moonwalk seemed in the 80s, in the uk we had 4 tv channels,bbc1,bb2,itv.ch4. only people with money could afford a vhs tape recorder. mj seemed other worldly!

Funny story: my dad watched all these Jackson 5 performances on TV. He remembers all of them. My dad brought his 45 record of "ABC"/"I Want You Back" to "Show and Tell" in 1st grade and from that point on he was "invited to the cookout." He later became teammates with many of those kids and the circle of friends grew. It eventually led to my dad being Best Man in four AA weddings and having five AA godchildren. The power of the Jackson 5 🤣
