I think she chose the ending of ‘logical’ not randomly at all. She’s admitting she got to where she is by letting it happened and admitting her fault to degree (which is very mature actually because Sour was mostly written in a perspective of her being a victim).

Honestly the "you got me thinking two plus two equals five" makes you like "oh ok I get it" but just when you heard it you hear "and I'm the love of your life" and it HURTS. The contrast hits hard, it's so stupid to think two plus two equals five and to put being someone's love on the same scale of stupidity is heartbreaking

the sour fans loved this one but the professional critics hated it and wanted her to do something edgier. i think it's such a beautiful ballad that shows off her range and her writing, and balances out the rockier sound of guts. at her core songs like this are what olivia started with and while arguably this song is most like sour i don't think thematically it would fit at all. even the sound is slightly different. i don't think the similarities are enough to say it's not mature (neither are the lyrics immature - 2 + 2 = 5 is a george orwell reference and i need people to stop writing the song off for that when it perfectly builds the picture that her relationship was like being under a totalitarian manipulative ruler) and i wish people appreciated it not only sonically or vocally but also in its songwriting. (and you're right, this song is a lot more interesting vocally than anything on sour and her vocals are even stronger, again showing off her range.) also that bridge and the outro are perfect

Tristan I may ask your opinion about her live performances concerning to her breathing. I feel something weird when listening comparing to the recordings, but dont get me wrong, i really appreciate her and her music, I just would like to understand it from a more technical opinion

I would listen to the performances on BBC or NPR for better ideas of how she sings. A lot of her other live performances she's running around, maybe nervous, etc. and she goes out of breath. A lot of pop singers who sound perfect while dancing or out of breath use heavy backing tracks or even lip sync, so people tend to have unrealistic expectation of singers as a result. That isn't to say there aren't some very athletic singers out there but I do think it's important to separate athletic prowess from singing ability, as I would say a majority of singers wouldn't sound their best while also exercising. Maybe that addresses what you're saying :)
