Great review. I just ordered this system. The one thing I love is that I can move it around to either side of my 4Runner.

I am a boat top fabricator and your work on reinforcing edges and corners, poles, strapping etc looks to be well made

Thanks for sharing. I've had the Moon Shade for a few years now. Definitely going to pick up the wall.

Thanks for the setup video. I just ordered both kinds today. I have two Moonshades and one is on my house over the porch and it has survived two hot summers and is the only reason my dog is able to sit and enjoy the porch without overheating. I had been using binder clips to clip on shade cloth and just found out about these walls which I will definitely be using in the future!

For the walls... a Harbor Freight 9x7 tarp for 10 bucks or so, has grommets for attaching or put grommets where you need them. I like the overhead shade tarp, but the price is way out there for the amount that most people will use it.

It's nice that it's affordable. I was suprised by the price.

Thanks for the video. I could use one of them for my jeep . Just awesome👌

Very good video, thanks! Seems like you could use a tarp with grommets to attach as side walls for a lot less $$, no?

Great video. I was confused with the different size awning.

Nice set of videos on these. It really REALLY makes me wonder why on earth they didn't just use a zipper design. I guess they have their reasons.

Looks good for many applications, but could it be replaced by a few telescoping poles and a old tent footprint for those with some sort of roof attachments / rails?

Hi, I have the Moon Shade and love it. In your video, you show (minute 7:14 and 10:34) the wall used as an extension of the awning roof. I’m interested on this setup using additional poles, as you did. What is your experience using the wall like that to cover from the sun (roof extension). Thanks

It has worked well when you need additional shade coverage. You will need to provide your own extra poles.

You did a great job with the demonstration, and it looks like a high quality product. But so much work. I just want something that barely requires any effort. That's why I like teardrops in the first place. Just pull into camp, don't fuss with levelers or much setup. Then when it's time to leave, just go. I hate the idea of taking an extra 7-10 minutes (coming and going) to deal with erecting an awning and these walls.

Dustin that is very true. We don't do the full setup each time it depends on the trip if we are parked and know there is a chance of rain for the week we are there then we setup fully,. If we are moving in a day we don't bother.

How about mosquito screen walls?
@jnsky12492 жыл бұрын
I have made mosquito screen walls using garage door screens on a framed canopy and it involved sewing velcro on the whole thing for complete coverage..not realistic with the Moonshade.
@conniewaite13712 жыл бұрын
Maybe velcro tabs in to the gaps if needed.i like it!

I think you could add this if you really wanted too.

I live the Moon Shade Awning, but as for the walls…..not so much. Looks Getto or rushed to make. I would be willing to purchase a well made walls than put up something that looks like traps. Nice video! Thank you
