The screen looks great - it’s a radical choice but the brushed metal really looks cool - IMHO. Love the Weslake shorties - just bought some for my speed twin.

Thanks! Love the Weslake shorties too. With the baffles in they could be a bit louder tough. Perhaps an x-pipe next 😉

Nice vid but don’t let any of the Triumph designers see that screen or they’ll have a stroke! It kills the whole look of the bike.

I think that screen really goes great with your bike. I like that low profile and it's finish relates well to all the other brushed and matte silver bits. Hopefully they offer that screen for the ST900. Not seeing any others I like. Came here for the Weslakes and I think I'm sold. Tell where where you got that tank strap!!?? Thanks!

@jakejokerdef Жыл бұрын
@@dustytriumph no issues here. Fit and finish is good.

How about cleaning around it or wear of the tank's paint surface? I assume you leave it on when you wash your bike? Or does it ever loosen a little and need to be snugged up? Does it conform perfectly to the shape of the tank without spaces for debris to gather under? Thank you! @@jakejokerdef
@jakejokerdef Жыл бұрын
I leave the tank strap in place when I wash the bike. The strap I got is fake leather so it is easy to wash. I dont know about the real leather version. The strap has not damaged the paint on the tank.

If you are interested in more power Tec bike parts have their Speed Twin power cam should bring the bike up to 106 brake.

Nice! Got the same pipes and am running them with the baffles out and no de-cat. It's bordering obnoxious for me, but with the baffles in they sound not much different to the stock ones (but ofc. look better and weigh less). I'm looking into baffles that are in de middle of these options.
@jakejokerdef4 жыл бұрын
Ok good to know that the decat and these pipes with baffles is not too loud then. I’m also interested in the weight loss and also perhaps an even better throttle response? About the baffles, I wonder if you would just drill some smaller holes around the larger center hole. That might do the trick. And there are new baffles sold separately if you need to replace them.
@rickslijkhuis68224 жыл бұрын
@@jakejokerdef Read somewhere that the pipes are around 3 kg lighter in total than the stock ones. I've also tried to drill some holes near the center hole, right before the exit, but it makes the cones pull more air in with a whistle sound on deceleration. I'll let you know when i've found a sweet sounding baffle.

I heard that the Speed Twin gets very hot during the summer months, are you experiencing this problem?
@jakejokerdef3 жыл бұрын
I have noticed that when the temperature goes to +30c or higher that my right leg gets heat from the engine and feels hot. This happens when either riding in the city or fast on the motorway. But I have an oil temp gauge in the oil filler cap and it indicates that the oil temp stays at around +80c. So the heat management of the engine works as it should.

was it easy to install?
@jakejokerdef4 жыл бұрын
Yes just remove the rear footrest (a pin is pulled out and then the footpeg comes of) by removing the bolt and then the clamp that holds the silencer on the exhaust pipe. Then just slide the new pipe on the exhaust, tighten the new clamp and bolt. Finally reinstall the rear passenger footpeg. Easy DIY job 😊
@jakejokerdef4 жыл бұрын
If you mean the screen it’s even easyer. Just remove two bolts that hold the headlight and then the support for the screen is mounted on the headlight supports. I actually modified the support so that the screen is now more tilted and not so upright. Looks better now 😉

@@jakejokerdef I really like the look of the screen, I can't find it on SW Motech site any more, it looks like they might have stopped making it. There is one on eBay but it says it's for t T120, do you think this is the same one? When you bought yours, we're there different screens for different models or only one? Thanks for the videos, think I'm going to get the Westlake's too!
