That riff defines a whole era of metal during that time period.

I think every kid has made up that riff on his own only to find out that thousands of metal core bands are playing it too hahahaha

Literally 10 seconds of playing, 1:30 of him talking about how it was a warmup jam, and then "That's how you play it, thanks for watching"? Love Corey, but the editor of this video shouldn't have let this get made like this.

My first metal song I learned after master of puppets....I soent all of sixth grade learning master and then the next year I practiced this until my parents told me I couldn't play the lead anymore. Amazing band that had so much influence to me growing up 😊

Matt has a different story, IDK it's a cool riff but how both of them say that this riff was theirs.... IDK anyhow, always happy to see corey talk about guitars and riffs

cowrite you mean?
@mr.sidecomments9278 Жыл бұрын
the main riff of Like Light To The Flies sounds nothing more than a recycled variation of the pre-chorus for When All Light Dies (the "It's so beautiful" part) which was a song composed before Corey was in the band so I'll probably believe Matt's story
@falricthesleeping9717 Жыл бұрын
@@mr.sidecomments9278 when all light dies is in harmonic minor, and bass notes are changing in that riff, sure it's all downpicked and first couple notes are same, but I can't label this as a recycled riff from that song
