If you like this guitar but you want to spend a little less, I just bought the player 2 tele HH and it's seriously amazing. I think the stock pickups are even better than this and the neck is buttery with rolled frets. I recommend it for 800 bucks over this personally. Also, it has a small pick guard and looks more vintage and traditional. Stock pickups are modded Shaw Buckers.

@@GeoffByrdMusic - There had also been a Squier 'Custom' model in the mid-2000's that looked like a 'Deluxe' and had been available also with "Duncan-designed" P90's as opposed to humbuckers (which is the version I had), plus it had a regular Tele headstock. It had gotten very good reviews, too! Finding one of those would probably be the most affordable way of getting close to something like this here guitar 🙂

@@mightyV444 I had a 70's style tele DLX from Squier, and while it was cool looking and sounded pretty good, it's was oddly a little TOO bright in the bridge with those full range Humbuckers that are a bit brash. Also, the wiring in mine went bad after a year. Squier can be great, but it's hit and miss. The Player 2, however, is sick right out of the gate without doing any mods at all. Cheers!

@GeoffByrdMusic - Thank you for the info, Geoff! 😀👍 I'll keep the Player II in mind for a possible Tele purchase in the future! 🙂 The original humbuckers on _my_ Squier Tele had also been too hot and bity, so I replaced them with a set of Ibanez Super70's I had laying around, and then it sounded really good 🤩 I miss that guitar; I sold it when experiencing financial challenges a few years ago. Salutations Austin! As far as I know, all Telecaster Deluxe’s have a comfort cut on the back side of the body, and they also all have the large Stratocaster style headstock. The anomaly on this instrument is that it has P-90’s instead of the wide range humbuckers, or a more conventional set of humbuckers. It’s an interesting instrument for Fender, however, they have offered other Telecasters with P-90’s installed, and I believe there is a para-normal Stratocaster that also has a set of P-90’s. Thanks for sharing! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🎸

I've never heard a "noiseless" stacked pickup that doesn't just sound like a humbucker to me, at least in high gain scenarios. Yngwie is my favorite example. Doesn't sound anything like a strat, and its cuz he puts those stacked demarzios in 'em
@skye7690

Love your show. Hey since regular humbuckers can measure say 7-8k ohms, why do these "stacked" humbucker ish pickups often measure 13-16k, why don't they measure half since they are essential humbuckers also?
@noire1991
@noire1991 Ай бұрын
Because these are noiseless P-90 pickups not humbuckers per se. So stacked pickups have two single coils one on top of each other and because of this the resistance that they read is twice the number, not because is twice the “heat”

I had no idea this was a thing. A beautiful guitar and sounds great. It does look like it's geared towards his solo and side projects rather than the Foo Fighters. The only thing I don't like is the way the pick-guard looks at the bottom horn. Either cover the horn or shape the pick-guard to match the horn. The way Fender did it looks weird to me. With the flexibility of the pickup cavity you could put humbuckers in. Just buy a new pick-guard since everything is mounted to it makes it easier to swap pickups. Can't quite afford one but one day hopefully.

Interesting Chris Shiflett "Cleaver" Tele Deluxe with their "Noiseless CS-90" which sounds Foo-ish at least, but not P90-ish. Listed at an amazing $3500 CAD in Canada! The more elegant and less complicated Les Paul Special is only $2400CAD. Chasing noiseless from the pickup end is a lost cause, sacrifice too much tone. Keep the noise and deal with it farther down the chain.

I personally love it. Nitro, p90, 12” radius… on a fender. Cool alternative to a Gibson IMO. Not a huge fan of the colors. The red is too loud for my taste and the grey/blue is just kind of meh. If this guy was Olympic white with a mint guard I would have already pulled the trigger.

Yeah i'd be sending that back. Too many QC issues for a $2500 guitar. I sent two AVII Jazzmasters back with poor headstock paint lines like that and a bunch of finish and fret issues. I decided to try a Troy Van Leeuwen model (Mexico) and it was absolutely flawless and set up perfectly. It's pretty sad when Ensenada has far better quality output than Corona.

I mean, you can’t draw that conclusion from three guitars. I had a TVL Jazzmaster that had the worst paint job I’ve ever seen on a guitar at any budget. But it didn’t make me think that all MIM Fenders are poor quality.

I can't believe that with all the diehard Telecaster fans out there, that Fender didn't offer these up in more colors. At least offer.

Fender hardly ever offers signature models in more than one or two colors.

Wasn't his original signature model Made in Mexico and cost a third of this?

It’s still in production, still being made in Mexico, and it’s $1,119 which makes it one of the least expensive Mexican made artist signature models.
