90 percent of the stuff on good will costs you the same price or more after shipping and handling and they use in house bidders to bump up bids. The main drawback is limited disclosure and minimal testing. The higher end vintage stuff can be a steal sometimes since they are not flooded with high end bidders since their niche estate and garage sale type merch. I found some dinosaur fossils for a few bucks when I almost pulled the trigger on a vintage reverb b4 I realized It was local pick up only 1000 miles from NJ. 😆

The older Squiers are good guitars and play great. They sell at a small fraction of the price for a Fender or Gibson. I think they're even related to Fender in some way. I believe Ebony is only native to Madagascar (or if I’m wrong, then it used to be.) The whole “problem” they had from ebony was due to a possibility that Gibson’s Ebony (and other exotic woods) wasn’t sustainably sourced, then the Feds got involved, confiscated a whole bunch of “contraband” lumber and that’s where “rich lite” showed up while Gibson tried to work out getting their lumber back and how to keep using ebony without raising a red flag.
