Personally I can appreciate anyone that actually does a review like he does, Look at it, Look in it, play test, and then final thoughts, people have this nasty habit on you tube of just demoing the guitar and calling it a review, which is a bit weird considering even a bad guitar can sound half decent after pedal and amp adjustments, oh and then you have the person that demos and runs a 150$ guitar through a $10k+ Amp rack or gear which will never happen accept in some odd universe where some guy has the money for that setup, but not the actual guitar..... Realistically the person that buys this will have pedals $20 - $50, maybe a Ibanez Tube screamer or will just get the Orange Micro Dark Terror and an 8inch busking speaker, they realistically aren't going to spend alot of money on gear, maybe a Vox Micro Superbeetle if they had the money. The only other situation is people that are tinkering kind or just want to cheat on their lady with something a little wild every once and a while or Glarry is real good if you want to try the feel of a specific body shape. At the end of the day people saw EVH's Stripe, it was an HSH turned into a weird Tele pickup style with a G spaced H in an F spaced guitar with bad wiring and a rigged Floyd, I am more than half willing to say Eddie was either a genius or an idiot when it came to guitar tech territory, we all know he was a savant at playing it and the fact he played the stripe so well I personally think is more a testament to how good he was as a player.

@@nocturnal101ravenous6 Spot On in your assessment of most guitar reviews and Eddie's Playing. I've been playing guitar since 1974 and have found the most important components to good guitar tone are Player, Amplifier and then Speakers. I agree with you as I can take the worst cheap guitar and make it sound epic run through my Marshall Plexi. Austin's reviews are just a reflection of himself, honest, practical and what an average player would experience holding the same guitar in their own hands, that is why I try to never miss any of his uploads.

I recently ordered a set of Wilkinson M-series humbuckers to do an upgrade on my 2014 Epiphone Traditional pro Les Paul. Amazon price was about $35. Here's the specs/propaganda, "This popular overwound open style humbucking pickup fits most electric guitar, like Fender, PRS, G&L, Ibanez, ESP, Jackson, etc. neck/bridge position Genuine Wilkinson parts. 50mm/52mm pole spacing for neck and bridge, wax potted Vintage tone, a big fat sound, with tons of harmonics and character. Alnico V magnets provide incredible focus and dynamics Magnet: Alnico V. D.C. Resistance: 7.6K (Neck) / 14.1K (Bridge). Four conductor wires, black wire is ground, yellow wire is hot, red and white is for splitting coil Package included: 2 Pieces Pickups. I have the simi hollow Tele type from December.same tuners, and the low E tuner bound up before I even got to C#. Replaced with Fender slotted waffle backs. Had to add some material to the holes in the head stock, and after other mods, it's become one of my favorites. I kinda think that all guitar manufactures should add a one sheet explanation one set up, these are marketed for beginners, and green horns don't know about set ups. Lots give up guitar because of bad set ups.

Austin, I wonder how consistent Glarry is with their necks. I have both a Glarry S-style and GP II P-bass clone. In neither case could I consider the neck larger than the average. Admittedly, I am no expert on necks, but they feel only normal when I play them. Or perhaps they've found a really good compromise profile that manages to feel decent or better to both of us. That would be nice.😎❤️🎸‼️

But the weight was a problem, I'm used to playing an LTD f-5 and the Glarry was about 2.5 lbs, crazy lightweight, which can have it's benefits, but honest review???? 8/10 stars, I was pleasantly surprised

Since this is a sponsored review I can't really trust it. But I am however glad to see that they're using basswood for the body. Basswood was used on many higher level guitars during the 80'es and 90'es, but has kinda disappeared in favor of other tonewoods nowadays. I actually like the feel and the weight of basswood, and I have a few basswood guitars myself.

I take issue with you referring to the scarf joint as a 'cost saving' measure. Scarf joints are present on some extremely high end guitars and are dramatically more stable than whatever Gibson does because of the increased surface area between the two sections. Basically; scarf joints are pretty much a necessity if you want to mass-produce a guitar with an angled headstock.

Another terrific vid, Trogly! I note with interest that "cheap guitars" in general are improving. Considering the price, I was rather impressed with this one; a number of distinctly different, usable tones ... something you don't always find in cheap guitars. I, too, would definitely prefer the Strat shape. There are indeed some "radical" shapes I like, but this one ... uh, not so much. Hey, nuthin' wrong with Wilkinson pickups, and if ya put a proper hefty steel trem block on it (GFS has 'em) it'd probably help a bit. Everything else actually looks darn good! Maybe change tuners, maybe not; if they work good, and feel good, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Y'know. If the hefty neck feels good, use it as is, and if not, y'can always slim it down and refinish. This would be a good one to change stuff around and experiment with, if ya wanted to, or it would be perfectly fine if left box stock. At least, that's the impression I get. Thanks Trogly, well done!

Undoubtedly great value for money and a good starter guitar, I’m not over keen on the body shape but other players would probably love it. Just saying Wilkinson pickups doesn’t really mean much as Wilkinson produce pickups at a very wide range of price points, some with ceramic magnets and others with alnico magnets. I suspect that the pickups on this guitar are at the cheaper end of the Wilkinson range but they do sound quite reasonable, even cheaper pickups are sounding a lot better these days. I wish that there had been reasonable guitars at this price point when I was younger and short of cash.

I actually have the original burning fire though I bought it direct from china for $50.00. It required a lot of work to get it playable. Had to recut the nut, shim the neck and a lot more. I think that is where Glarry makes sense. They seem to take these cheap Chinese guitars and set them up properly and warranty them. I think the original pickups actually sound WAY better then these with the exception of that Neck Pickup. It almost sounds like there is a wiring problem. Maybe out of phase on the other positions? Not sure. That neck pickup does sound pretty good though. Not sure what kind of strings Glarry is putting on these as an "UPGRADE" but on my original a decent set of strings made a HUGE difference. Locking that trem down is a MUST. There is no chance of keeping tune if you use it.

Imo, they should ditch the Burning Fire and keep on with the ST and TE, maybe add an SG and LP model. And the Burning Fire should not have a trem.

This IS my 'least favourite' body style that Glarry makes, but I really like the idea of owning a 24 fret guitar. I'm just wondering if the 'MK-II' is worth the additional cost over the original Burning Fire model. I was also looking at their ES335 copy, they reviewed well, but cost a fair bit more than their other models, but also feature a set neck construction.

I have an original Glarry strat (fender style headstock). I was quite impressed with what I got for $65 shipped.

You can buy Wilkinson locking tuners for like $30 (consumer price), seems like an obvious oversight.

17:57 - sorry, but that distortion just sounds sooooo bad. At first one would think that its the humbuckers, but since I have the same ones in a different guitar, it must be your amp. Up your distortion game 😂

Glarry… did two guys named Glen and Larry start a guitar company together? That’s what I always think of when I hear that name.

You just sold one of these. I’m getting g bored of “nice” guitars. Gonna block the trem, change the tuners, and roll the edges of the fretboard and call it a day with this model.

I can't see why Trogly is busy pushing up the prices of beginner guitars ... Also, as Mod platforms, the costs are going up for those who want to install tusq nuts, Seymour Pups, specific strings, better Tremelo systems, etc, etc ... It'll be disappointing if Glarry end up stopping production of their cheapest models as a result ...

A good power sander with some 60 grit would knock off those jagged lumps in a hurry... Of course, then it might look like a Charvel or Jackson.
