People don’t get it. I am a black woman with a blue eye daughter. All of my biracial children are completely different, some with blue eyes and others with brown eyes. But all are the same skin tone as Brooklyn. And my grandchildren are blond hair with blue eyes. People just don’t understand genetics. Y’all just be happy and ignore them. 😊

Genetics makes sense. It states that the children look like the parents. For you to be a black women with a whole slew of blue-eyed white grandchildren makes no sense. Just like it would make no sense for a white man to have 10 grandkids and they're all black.

I can definitely see the mama’s features in her face. Being mixed native hasn’t been easy for myself because I’m lighter skinned. It’s so weird to have complete strangers tell me who I am 😂😂😂. My mother is a beautiful brown skinned native woman my father is a white man. It’s not easy have one foot in my native culture and the other in my fathers Irish heritage. I love and embrace them both because I have such a wonderful support system that remind me other people’s opinions of me are not my issue or my problem. I am brown and married a German guy. Our son has a deeper tan complexion closer to me. In the summer, he actually gets darker than me. Our daughter on the other hand, is closer to my husband’s skin tone. She barely tans. Our son has my dark thick curly hair while our girl has brown very thin loose curls. She was born paler than her dad. Our kids look like opposites but at the same time look alike. I was actually asked once if I was her babysitter.

This is literally my life, but in reverse. I am mixed (white and black), my father is black and my mother is white. Growing up, people never believed that I was her biological daughter. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with adoption, it still hurt me a little that people would never even consider the possibility that my father could be black. Plus, people always glossed over many defining characteristics that I share with my mother, like our smiles, just because of the difference in skin color and hair texture between us...

Me and my brother are the spit of each other one is white one is brown. So people just assume hes my boyfriend and when we say no they relpy thing like What! No never! like they still cant see past the colour even once told to look. They ask if we have the same dad so we say we do. Then they ask if we have the same mother we say we do and they look lost. He gets told he black I get told I'm white it's like people just can not help by putting people in boxes of colour and when you say we come from the same box but are a different colour their brains can not understand it.

@@SobrietyandSolace sorry to read that. I guess people have many stereotypes and preconceptions in their mind and feel the urge to express a lot of unnecessary judgment. I saw once in a documentary that African-American descendants are very much aware of the sigle shades of their skin, judging themselves and others according to a sort of racial classification, the lighter the better. Probably that’s very far from me because in Switzerland there are not many black people, but to me this self consciousness of the skin tone is utterly incomprehensible. The fact that the “race” is mentioned on the U.S. IDs is incomprehensible. Centuries of slavery have forged everybody’s conception of “colour”. In England it’s probably different from Switzerland (and US).

In every community of color , there's an element of colorism among people of color that manifests itself in many ways and is generational in a lot of cases. In black Americans' case , it seems from the separation and demarcation that was made between slaves that worked in the master's house who were often the children of the slave owner and female slaves and darker skinned slaves that worked in the fields. Though both were treated horribly, house slaves because of their fairer skin could be treated a little bit better than dark skinned slaves, and also the lighter a person was , the easier it was for them to pass as white which could literally be a saving grace.

I definitely believe it when seeing what their grandmother looks like. She very light-skinned and most likely has recent European admixture so it’s logical that if her child has kids with a person of European descent, their offspring will most likely look lighter in complexion. 😊

I'm slightly darker than the lady in this video but my daughter is white, blond and blue-eyed. When she was about 4 or 5 we were at the mall and some security guard was keeping an eye on us and for a while following us. It was really creepy. Until my daughter for some random reason said: "Mama, ..." And that's when he backed off. It was the most unsettling experience in the mall. I carried her in my belly for 9 months, had to have 2 surgeries to get her to begin with and then they act that way, because I'm dark-skinned and she's white? If it had been the other way around, they wouldn't have bothered because then they would have assumed that I had adopted some poor African child. And then they claim there is no racist bias? I live in Europe as the daughter of a white European and an Afro-Latina. My last name is considered normal, my first name anything but. My other two daughters were born with brown eyes, brown hair an a slightly darker skin. Nobody says anything about them. But some people even asked me whether they (the oldest and the twins) had the same father. Just because my eldest is white, blond and blue.

My partner's from an eurasian family, both of his parents are European - Asian mix. But he and his twin sister look almost 100% European (blue/green eyes and brown /blonde hair, with subtle asian facial features). They spent their childhood predominantly in China and South Korea and considered themselves as the same as their friends there. They were devastated when people tell them that they are "outsiders" and deny their 'Asianess". My partner told me all about his self-doubt and I truly feel sorry for him. So I just kept telling him that he is uniquely him and he can decide who he wanna be, regardless of what other people say. And well, if he wanna identify with the asian culture, as an asian myself, I would 100% approve that.

My son looks nothing like me he's bi-racial, black and white, and has Down Syndrome. She doesn't have to prove or defend who she is. That doesn't mean being a door mat or sweeping things under the rug. Honestly, I wasn't going to comment because I feel like all we do is comment, defend, go against, give people our opinions about everything, tell the world about everything thing and in reality we can chose to be, to live, and not always take a side or a stand on things. As a mother, I want to defend my child and my family, and in certain situations, I do and will, but sometimes I have to consider the source and see whether it truly matters. Dad told me that when I was born he was looking at me through the nursery window (this was in the 70s). A coworker wife also had a baby the same day. The coworker asked my dad where his baby was? He pointed to me, I guess I was really pale white and had light eyes. The coworker said "That's not your baby that baby is white!". Of course my dad shut him down. My mom also said some in his family thought my mom was cheating. 50+ years later I am much darker (due to living in the west coast) and I still have hazel eyes.

It’s sad that people so often project their worst selves in comment sections. That people think their biology 101 understanding of genetics is sufficient to invalidate a mothers relationship to her own child is absolutely wild and awful. Genetics is obviously not a simple thing, and that is typically made clear in the average bio 101 class too. So for those commenters to act like it’s so clear and straightforward just shows how much they were skirting that subject so they could vent their own bias and upset. Im glad that in this case the family was able to see that rather than take those comments on. This is a beautiful, close family and I’m glad they saw through those commenters in the end 👍

Most African Americans have quite a bit of European DNA, so it’s not surprising that a child born or a white person and an African American could come out looking white. Even two African American parents can have a child with heavily white features. Just the other day I saw an African American family with four kids who were obviously all biologically from the parents but one was much lighter skinned and had whiter features than the other three while still resembling both parents. If I would have saw her alone with only one of her parents it would have been easy to assume her other parent was white.

There's a lot of interracial couples consisting of one black parent and one white parent that have white skinned babys or black skinned babys or even middle shade (light darkish) skin shades. Even two white parents can have a biological super dark black skinned baby due to one white skinned parent having a really dark black skinned great-grandfather. DNA can be passed for generations before it becomes active, there's a lot of diseases like that. One mother with a disease that's active can have a child, grand-child and great-child who are carriers of the disease but the disease never becomes active in them then the great-great grans child is born with the genetics of the disease being active. DNA is weird, you can never know what active and inactive genes they recieve or pass on to there own future kids/generations.

What a gorgeous family! I can totally see Mom in that face! Babies change sooooo very much, and even if she grew up to look exactly like she does now- it shouldn't matter. Chances are she will change though and I wouldn't be surprised if the day comes where she looks a whole lot like mom! That's what's so wild about the negative comments, particularly how "hurt" some claim they would be if their baby "didn't look like them." Why would you be hurt? Why would you take offense to that? It makes no sense to me.

True, I saw a video a few years ago of a Nigerian couple who had a white baby with blonde hair and blue eyes. Doctors did DNA test as well as testing for albinism which came back negative and the doctors didn’t have an answer for how all their other children were born dark skin except for that one.

I know the feeling she going through. My child is Puerto Rican, which she lughter than me as I'm brown skin. Everywhere I would go would as me if she my child or if people knew me, they will ask who child did you rob. It does gets frustrating at time. Just because your child doesn't have the same skin color as you dont mean that child, not yours biologically. People will always talk, and I have learned not to care. This is a beautiful family 💚

Morgan is going to grow up and have two people that are crazy about her and give her all the love and attention she needs. That is all that is very important. She is very lucky to have a set of wonderful parents that love and take care of her unlike other little children.

Two of my granddaughters are bi-racial. Mom is Brazilian and is of African descent . My son is fair and blue eyed. The girls are a beautiful. mix of both parents. Their skin is a creamy brown. People ask him if the girls are his . Often in front of the girls. He says yes and why do you ask. Still is hurtful. Sorry are about how racist act and speak in such hateful ways. Enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing . Our family is diverse. A mix of race and ethnicity. Religious background. Sending my care and support.

My paternal grandparents came to visit us one particular time when I was a baby, an elderly neighbor kept asking mom is my grandmother was really my dad's mom. She actually asked my mom 8f my grandmother gave birth to him. This was over 40 years My paternal grandmother's father was of Dutch ancestry and my great grandmother was a dark skinned black woman. I have an oil painting of my grandmother from when she was a little girl and she looked like the archetype for a human version of Snow White, raven 🐦‍⬛ hair , rose bud lips etc. And dhe was born in Beaumont, Tx in 1911. My dad on the other hand had smooth chocolate coloring, my Maternal grandfather was frim Louisiana as was my paternal grandfather fair skinned creole men. My mom was fair skinned and guess what, still till this day , I still have people say i look like my dad. complexion wise and I do but when I became a teenager, I started to look more like my mom. When I was a baby no one would say I looked like my mom because of my looking like my dad, same with my oldest brother who's 22 yrs older than me, my late sister and 2nd oldest brother was/ is fair like their mother's side. I always say I may not look it from the outside, but I have a lot of Western European blood in me, from Dutch 🇳🇱 to Irish 🇮🇪 and French 🇫🇷.

My little girl is mixed. She inherited my ginger skin and hair. But has a lot of her dad's features. If you look past skin color you can see the resemblance, but a lot of people don't care to look so carefully and automatically become judgemental. End of the day those people don't matter. Her dad and I are doing what we need to do as parents and she is happy and thriving.

She is very obviously mixed race! Dad could be holding her alone in a store, and I'd still know her mother is a black woman! There is not just one shade of black and being lighter skin doesn't take her blackness away from her. Shame on anyone trying to deny that baby's identity!

Brooklyn is a gorgeous baby God bless her & your family 🙏! It's funny because my daughter looked like Brooklyn as a baby with big blue/gray eyes and white skin since my husband is also Caucasian 😃 In stores I would see people staring at us thinking I must be the nanny since I'm Puerto Rican 😂 People always commented that her eye color was going to change & it did but it went from blue to green not brown like mine 😆 Her skin color never changed but she did start to resemble me a little bit more by the time she was 9 & now looks like a combo of both of us 😎 Your daughter may or may not change in skin color and/or looks but it doesn't matter because she is your biological child no matter what others say!

We have intermixed so much as humans it shouldn't be shocking that people are now a melting pot of DNAs. In any case the mom as an African American is obviously mixed and so it shouldn't be a surprise. I've noticed how Americans mostly are so intrigued with putting people in "racial boxes"... It's just really weird. I guess it's because of racial policies they once had that separated people coz of their heritage.
