They have NO idea how quickly they could be trampled! I think before too long the people will either be locked out during the change or fencing is put up to contain visitors! It’s just getting SO dangerous! The prob will need fences around the box too because idiots ruin it for others. I’ve had horses for over 50yrs & all I keep seeing is what could go wrong & how close people are, they don’t even move for the guards, it’s just ignorance!! Soon the warning signs with be up in 10 different languages cos they clearly can’t read or understand English!! 😠 I really feel for the horses and the guards for what they have to put up with! 🙁

During the Roman times & its occupation there was no such thing as tourists , which now it is & people have to allow for it This regiment is the Lifeguards Cavalry regiment - Household Division of the British army & It is used as escourt & guard to the monarch & dates back to the 1650 century !! & would have escourted & fought for Oliver Cromwell ! who executed king Charles 1 & briefly abolished the monarchy & then the chest armour was not shiny !! Yes they are currently serving soldiers & their modern combat role is driving light armoured tanks !!! The Romans were in Britain from 43 AD under initially emperor claudius !!! Which is a long time before the regiment was created & even the country !!

I think it's insulting the way people treat the armed guardsmen, don't they realise they're actually fully trained soldiers. Would they behave so badly if the soldiers were dressed in full SAS uniform ? I do wonder. It would be hilarious watching the tourists having a bag shoved over their heads to be matched off for serious interrogation. They deserve it. They certainly need a reality check. They live in cloud cuckoo land.

The late -comers just don't care when they push in front of the people who where already standing behind the white line before thes late-comers arrived. and the look on their faces when asked to move behind the white lines . These serving guards and troopers have endless patience with these people, but there are limits to what they can be expected to put up with their appalling behaviour for hours at a time.

I’m not sure if this is the ‘serious situation’ but a man and his child approached showing no consideration for the horse and then stood almost touching the horse and guard at 5:42. The guard and her mount reacted by moving backwards in a controlled way rather than shouting at them. I’ve noticed that the guards don’t shout at tourists behaving inappropriately so much now.

If you take pictures at my public workplace I don't care. The surveillance cameras see everything already. Inside my home is different. This is a tourist attraction, they make money from people visiting, taking pictures, taking tours and buying souvenirs.

Some of the MoD cops are really helpful with crowd mangement. That guy with the big bushy red beard is excellent... Big booming voice that he's not afraid to use. I noticed too that they were, in the lead up to the closure, using the stablemen more and more for crowd control. I kept catching snatches of video of Trooper Ellis and that tall Blues guard who was also on stables chivvying tourists out of places they shouldn't be, and Ellis parting the crowd for the gatesman to pass, like a human sheepdog or perhaps more like Moses parting the red(tourist) sea, with the death stare warning off anyone who even thought about filling the gap.... lol poor lad, I'm pretty sure THAT wasn't in the job description lol

Yes, jumping into the horse's space and then wondering why you get bitten is sheer stupidity and arrogance. Horses, if tied to closely together whether in a corral or to a tree will bite or kick each other, meaning it's territorial. Even while riding on a trail, the smart rider allows plenty of room between his mount and the next. Not to do so will result in a biting, screaming, kicking mess of horseflesh, similar to a bunch of human idiots not respecting others personal space in a crowd.

As it obvious that the pleas from people watching these videos are being ignored to protect the horses and guards. and the don't touch the reins sign is completely ignored. by the tourists also. Why can't you just close down, like when there is a celebration going on or an emergency? Then the guards and horses can get on with what they are supposed to be doing guarding the building. without the stress of being mauled in the horses case and all the police and troopers having to try and move the idiot tourist to get behind the bollards and white lines. This would take care of all the trouble that is going on. Making the working day more as normal as possible

@HypatiaK . It's a tether chain , when they were traveling it was used to tether the horses together on a line for the night , one end unclipped so the horses were kept together while the guards slept .

There are 2 white lines one to show the path of the horses to go into the box & to allow them room and then a white line several feet over for the public!! If they spent any time around horses these people would realise these are horses not machines, if that horse decides it doesn’t want to work today, none of them will be able to get out the way quick enough! With the sizes of the crowds I don’t think it will be long before people are locked out of the yard or a fence is put up!!

The idea of the white lines is really to ensure that the middle of the parade square is clear with all the idio....errr I mean, "tourists"... are pushed back around the edges. If a rider has real issues they can push their mount into the centre and not have to worry about them.

It’s a signal the horses are trained with to tell them they are dismounting and their post is finished, like an end of shift signal! There is a couple of videos on YT about the guards training very interesting how many things have been done for hundreds of years 😮
