You’re right about one thing there are waves coming off the coast of Africa. The reason why none of this had formed yet because we still have a Saharan dust and some sinking air and wind shear. However as we progress in time, we could start to have rising air and could create thunderstorm clouds can provide atmosphere instability and they have a chance of forming and into tropical cyclones. It will not be surprise us if we had 2 to 4 more landfalls and direct impacts before the season closes on November 30th. So we have to remain vigilant, although we may have a little lull right now things could ramp up in a hurry and as with any wave that forms, we don’t know where it’s going to go so we can’t rule out the possibility of impacts towards the continental United States. As with Ernesto bring in some rain and gusty wind to Newfoundland out in Canada before heading to Europe and it could affect Ireland and the United Kingdom with heavy rain and gusty winds. So after Canada Ireland and the UK are going to have to look out for some impacts.

I agree, well said, it has been a slow transition for the dust to lighten up, but it is slowly getting there. As we approach the heart and core of hurricane season, we have to remain vigilant. Going to be a rough couple of months for some, I am hoping everyone is preparing.

Mark, a gardener mentioned that the skin on his onions had more layers & thicker skin. That means early Fall 🍂 🍁 & colder Winter. Isn't that fascinating?
@Meteomark2 ай бұрын
That is definitely very fascinating. Thanks for sharing, I never knew that. That is great to know, I have a feeling the onion skin will be correct, as a precursor to my winter outlook I am working on. We may just indeed be looking at an early colder winter and early fall based on a lot of indications and parameters.

That is some intense rainfall rates going on there, and I see it just continues to back build over the same areas of CT. Dangerous flash flood pattern we are in.

I definitely will be very busy late August in September. I have a feeling most days we will be contending with named storm days, with some days we will have 2 or 3 storms simultaneously occurring at once. I am ready for it, hopefully everyone that lives within landfall range of the coast is preparing.

2020 had the worst case of Saharan dust in record history, and it was the most active hurricane season to
@Meteomark2 ай бұрын
Very good point, the dust in 2020 hurricane season seemed to not be able to negate the effects of a robust hurricane season very much. This hurricane season will likely start overcoming the Saharan dust.

Hi, when it’s peak? I’m trying to book a vacation early Oct 😊😩

Peak hurricane season is around September 10, October we will hopefully be calming a bit, although still may have a few tropical systems around. Early October definitely better than September.

Hopefully I prayed to God that this hurricane season that many call for "super-charged" and "one of the most active hurricane seasons on record behind 2020" turns slightly below normal or near normal by the end of November. It may even beat the forecasted hurricane season named storms to be 12-14 named storms, instead of 25-28. We don't need hyperactive hurricanes for the east coast and gulf coast. 🤞🙏

Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst, it is the best we can do. Hopefully many of these storms end up being fish storms, and hopefully a down tick in activity at some point. We can only hope and pray. Staying vigilant.

Do you think 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season will be 1988 alike?
@Meteomark2 ай бұрын
Will have to keep an eye on it, as 1988 saw so many landfalls, this season may feature a lot of fish storms, but still many chances for landfalls. It may end up getting close to 1988.

Do you think Mississippi will have a hurricane?
@Meteomark2 ай бұрын
I am still thinking Mississippi will have its biggest risk this hurricane season in mid to late September. I am concerned about how fast the water temperatures have increased along the north Central Gulf Coast.

Do you think 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season will be 2022 alike?

In terms to destructive power, it could end up like 2022, although this season is definitely shaping up to be potentially more active than 2022.

Mark, can a hurricane outside Eastern FL create rip tides/rip currents on the NY/ NJ shoreline? 🌀
@Meteomark2 ай бұрын
Great question, a hurricane outside eastern FL can definitely throw a lot of rip tides/rip currents further north up the east coast toward NJ & NY shoreline. It wouldn't be as strong as say a hurricane was more in line with the latitude of NY/NJ shoreline, but still a lot of wave action can propagate tides/rip currents up to NY/NJ shoreline.

Happy Monday to you my friend!! How do I get the certification for trained weather spotter? I @ Chambersburg Pa. I know how to spot weather, not hard to learn. Any hope for heavy rain ☔🌧️🌧️☔🌧️ here in the next 3 weeks?? We can use two more tropical storms here. Winter is anyone guess. 😅😂..
@Meteomark2 ай бұрын
Happy Monday to you, I would definitely check with the National Weather Service State College PA website to get certified for trained weather spotter, as they cover your forecast area. They provide training as my local NWS office did, and it was really good training. It unfortunately looks like we are headed into a dry pattern again these next few weeks. May have to look to a potential tropical system to bring us some heavy rain in September. Winter truly is a wildcard at the moment, watching closely to see if we can get some more tropical systems to bring us some heavy rain.
