Troubleshoot LG Dishwasher no power - SOLVED! Easy, Free! No parts required - just a drill. Do shut off the power to your machine first at your breaker. I discovered this fix somewhere online last year when I had a corroded broken pipe under my kitchen sink that was the dishwasher discharge line into the sink drain. I am re-posting the steps because it was found in obscure place and so difficult to find. I haven’t seen it again and I’ve never seen any other repair page mention this. Tip for maybe a minute - to the front and then to the back. You don’t have to tip it much, when I did it in this video I didn’t actually even pull it out of the opening
- just an inch or two so I could grab the sides.
The cause: There is a water sensor down in the bottom of the machine and when it detects water where there shouldn’t be any, it will kill the power. So gently tipping the machine for a minute after shutting off the breaker may restore the power by draining out the water. When I’ve done it it hasn’t leaked out of the machine and just evaporated on its own. If this is your cause do you determine why you might have excess water collecting so it doesn’t recur. In my first event it was a broken pipe and in the second event it may have been water that leaked down from the sink/counter from dishes in the dish drain.
I would say this may work on your machine if you occasionally find your panel goes glitchy for no reason. I’ve also had it where it wouldn’t power on at night and inexplicably would start in the morning. I now suspect that would be because the water by my sensor evaporated overnight.
